"The house was beautifully furnished to a very high standard. Very clean when we arrived and a bottle of wine from the owner was a welcome touch. As it was our first time in Northumberland we did a lot of sightseeing and it was so nice to return to such a lovely house after a fair bit of driving. It’s location of being a 100 metres or so from the promenade was lovely and we walked there at some point every day. You also have a view of the sea from the lounge albeit between the detached houses opposite. The owners were very helpful and were keen to ensure we were satisfied with the property.Whilst Newbiggin itself leaves a little to be desired we found it to be a nice base from which to operate to see Northumberland although being in the very south it does mean a bit of driving to explore many parts. This in no way detracted from the place as the coastal routes north from there are a pleasure to drive. Whilst we did not try too many eateries in Newbiggin we would recommend the Italian restaurant “Due Fretalli” in Newbiggin as very good and excellent value and we ate there twice. We visited Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Roman Vindolanda and the Roman army museum at Hadrian’s Wall, Lindisfarne and Banburgh Castle and Kielder Water and Forest amongst other places and really enjoyed them all. Whilst we had some rain overall the weather was kind which allowed us to appreciate the beauty of Northumberland. There are so many places to visit and we will undoubtedly return and would love to stay at this lovely house again."

"Absolutely nothing wrong with the cottage really and the location is great, specifically the access to the beach being just across the road. The fault is with the windows....whether open or closed they let in the same amount of noise and, being on the main street through town, constant noise of cars, etc during the day. This is bearable, but the pub across the road has karaoke night, music nights, etc which may as well be playing in the cottage until midnight. No chance of relaxing or sleeping. Every night there are youths skateboarding on the bandstand across the road, usually from midnight to 1.30am. This persistent noise has resulted in little sleep and, in all honestly, in need of a holiday!! The cottage is great however, though the downstairs bedroom smells very damp from the en-suite shower, and the town of Newbiggin itself is lovely....pick a different café each day! The big plus is the beach which is very expansive and, even with 7 days of sun, was frequently only with the 4 of us visiting it...a private beach. Sorry for the negatives, it's a quirky cottage that I wanted to pick up and put somewhere else, but if you want to sleep and unwind this is not the place for you."

"Graeg Neuk was a lovely place to stay.OVER All: The holiday let was freshly decorated and had everything and more that we could ever need.Decor: Really lovely. You could tell the owner put time and thought into this house.Living room: Big and comfortable with television.Dining room: Great and also had 2 large comfy chairs for watching television or listening to music. This became our 'go to' room.Kitchen: Fantastic. Everything I might need from good pans to white goods and all in great condition! So refreshing to find this.Equipment: We had a bit of trouble trying to turn the heating system off at the times we didn't need it. Also, we'd like to see the actual bath/shower freshened up a bit. Bathroom was fine.Cleanliness: Very clean.Location: Newbiggin-by-the-Sea. Perfect. The cottage was on a quiet street, Just a short walk from the beach front. Near shops and restaurants. We never had to drive more than 30 minutes to get to lovely Northumberland highlights for a day out. There's so much to see. We'd definitely recommend and we'll return some time."

"We had a lovely 2 week stay at this holiday letting. Very quiet, private location with a beautifully landscaped yard and a view to a field with grazing horses. The beds and linens were the best quality and the kitchen was first class. We ate in some nights but also dined out; a pub is within walking distance and 2 other restaurants are a short drive away.I love a good bathroom - both were equipped to a high standard and the shower had great water pressure, loads of hot water and nice towels. We explored Northumberland and Durham and becausethere are several bus stops close by we went by bus to Gateshead and Newcastle so we didn't have to worry about parking. Just a short walk to the Beamish Open Air Museum - a lovely place well worth a visit - we actually spent several pleasant days leisurely exploring the grounds. This is a very nice cottage and Andrea is helpful if you need her. I booked because of the beautiful photos and good reviews and was happy to find it actually exceeded my expectations. "

"Really quirky little cottage but unfortunately it had a lot of negatives. Plenty of room for four people with two good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms, however the living space is tiny. Small microwave, absolutely no space to prepare food ( so much so that the toaster was in a cupboard!) And my absolute pet hate; two tumblers, two wine glasses, four spoons etc.By far the worst aspect of our stay was the noise. The windows are so ineffective that it sounds like they are permanently open. The pub across the road had karaoke till 12am, and we could hear every word as if we were in the same room. The cottage is on a corner and heavy lorries we’re driving past at speed all night. The gate where you can park you car, does not properly close, so not only is your car not secure but the gate bangs loudly every few minutes all night! I would advise that unless you are one of those rare people who can survive on two hours sleep, this cottage is not for you. We booked for three nights, but came home after one."
