What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs James - Verified booking

The bungalow was very clean and well-maintained. It was tastefully and comfortably decorated and furnished, with touches such as footstools and blankets in the living room and conservatory. The garden was lovely with lots of sitting and eating places and ways to enjoy it such as the fire pit, pizza oven and summer house. You can hear the waves crashing onto the beach below - as the name suggests! We liked the empty cupboards in the kitchen so we had somewhere to put our food and picnic items. The bathroom had a large window sill for putting our toiletries. We wish all holiday rental properties were presented like this, the owners had obviously put a lot of thought into it and cared that their guests enjoyed the property to its full. It was a very quiet location on a no-through road and just 10-15 minutes walk to Port Eynon or two ways to reach the coastal path. Just a few niggles - the TV signal is very poor/non-existent so couldn't make use of all the channels, Netflix, etc; the double mattress has very obvious springs and is a bit uncomfortable, the toilet flush sticks a bit and the kitchen needs a washing up bowl to protect the owners' crockery and glassware banging into the hard sink. The owners have been informed of these in the visitors book so I am sure they will be rectified. However, this was one of the best holiday rental properties we have stayed in and had a lovely week here.

This property is beautifully situated in a stunning setting near the coast, with walking paths and quiet roads everywhere nearby. Overton is a lovely tiny peaceful hamlet, and Port Eynon also extremely pretty, in convenient walking distance, with at least one pub serving food and local beers. The house itself is beautifully presented, well-maintained, and for those with children, mercifully almost entirely free of clutter. The furniture, likewise for those with children, is exceptionally sturdy, and the layout astonishingly convenient with everything on the one level (not wheelchair accessible but quite accessible otherwise) and in close proximity but with doors between rooms and areas so that noise and cooking smells are well contained. The garden is stunning, and again, entirely secure (front and back), a bonus for those with children. A thoughtful hamper was provided with milk, bread, etc., which is nice as shops are relatively far away. We would absolutely return.

The house was well equipped, beds very comfy and great shower. There is also a dishwasher which wasn't in the listing description. The location is about 10 mins easy walk uphill from sea front and main area of restaurants. The neighbourhood is lovely and quiet. It was very useful to have a parking space as street parking in area extremely limited. The road and driveway is very narrow, however, luckily there was no car on neighbour's drive when we were there so it was easy to park. It would be quite difficult to park a large car if there was a car on neighbouring drive. Views from the upper terraces of the back garden were stunning but unfortunately the garden has not been well maintained so it is not really useable. A fence panel is missing so entire garden not 100% secure for dogs, although the patio area immediately to the rear of the house is gated. The garden area was a shame but overall the house was clean and comfy and good value for money.

Well equipped, clean and welcoming cottage with the added bonus of 2 parking spaces. The layout of the accommodation was ideal for my husband and myself on the first floor and my son and daughter in law on the second floor, with their own ensuite. Really good location only 15 - 20 minute walk down to the Mumbles Pier and several local eateries e.g. the Lighthouse. Our particular favourite was Verdi's for authentic Italian pizzas and ice creams. By car and headland walks we explored several local beaches e.g. Three Cliffs bay, Oxwich beach and finally the outstanding Rhossili beach which stretched for several miles, ideal for kite flying and building sand castles. We would definitely recommend this property to family and friends and we hope to visit again in the near future. Thank you for the welcome pack on arrival.

We loved this house and its location. Overland Road suggested it may go over land, and this turned out to be the case. Turn right and you can wind your way down to the top end of the promenade on the way to the pier (currently closed), turn left and within a few minutes I was at Rotherslade Bay, over the road and down the hill takes you past the chippy to one of the shopping streets. The garden, although very steep was also sheltered so we could sit outside even if it was windy elsewhere. The kitchen equipment is good, the beds are comfortable and we were grateful for access to the heating controls when we came home cold and wet one afternoon. We didn’t watch much TV as the lounge TV was pretty basic, but after full days out and leisurely evening meals this wasn’t a big deal.
