"The beds in property are old and worn. Not fit for purpose - would be more comfortable lying on the floor. Floorboards are broken and a tripping hazard. Carpet does not extend to full room in master bedroom. Boiler was faulty on arrival. Engineer arrived late on the Friday to fix - however the hot water was faulty again by the next morning. Boiler is also very loud and situated in cupboard of bedroom 2. Property was up for sale to detriment of external look and feel of property. Advertised car park does not exist - car park is for private use of inhabitants of other properties. Television signal was faulty. Sofas in lounge were old and dirty. Carpets/rugs were old and dirty. We survived one night in the property (and only because it was late and had no other alternative). Avoid at all costs! Anstruther was lovely, so would recommend a trip there - just don't stay at Holly's Hideaway."

"A beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. The pictures online really don't do it enough justice. The little hamper that the family put together for us was just what we needed to help us wind down after a long journey up. The kitchen was fully equipped with all cooking utensils, cloths and washing liquid. There is a separate play room for the kids with lots of decent toys and board games which helped give the kids a space to play. The owners came to greet us and welcome us to the village which was a lovely touch. I'm from the area so know of most places to visit but they were on hand to advise if needed. By the end of our visit, we really didn't want to leave. We are already looking at when we can next book to stay and my parents have already booked it for 2 weeks time."

"Enjoyed a relaxing weeks holiday staying at The Garden apartment. The owner, Rosemary, was very friendly and welcoming, and quickly sorted out a problem we had with the TV when we arrived. The house is set in beautiful grounds which are a pleasure to walk around, and if you are lucky you may see deer and squirrels. There is much to see and do in Fife and Perthshire, even in October, so no one should be stuck for anything to do, and the house is well placed for exploring the surrounding area.I recommend a visit to Loch Leven castle at Kinross, followed by lunch at Loch Leven Larder a few miles away. The food is delicious.Falkland and Falkland Palace are also interesting places to visit and the guides at the Palace are very friendly and informative."

"We found the cottage well presented and cosy but not quiet worthy of the 4 star standard we would expect. One of the reasons we chose this cottage was that it stated in the advert that there is 'a 250yrd stroll to the beach' which seemed ideal for dog walking - this is misleading. The walk takes you to a coastal path which is accessed by a potentially dangerous/uneven/slippery steps. You cannot access the beach directly as there are warning signs about coastal erosion and the beach has jagged rocks, this aspect was disappointing. We had some other concerns which we took up with the owners which they said would be corrected."

"A wonderful quirky but very comfortable and well-equipped historical house in the centre of Anstruther. The Red House has loads of charm but also comfortable beds, a great power shower! Beautiful sea views from the top floor sitting room (there are 3 reception rooms). Access to a lovely garden. The sea/beach is just a few metres walk away. The owners live next door and are very welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful stay here with my parents and young children aged 6 & 4. We would all highly recommend the Red House and Anstruther."
