What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Otterburn To Rent.

"The Hemmel is a beautiful well equipped cottage in what appears beautiful surroundings but the area itself we found to be very anti dog. We found that we had to travel to the coast to be able to let our very well behaved dogs off the lead, the nearest dog friendly place was Cragside at Rothbury (Stunning) and a very dog friendly pub that served good food was The Market Tavern at Alnwick. There are also some stunning Castles with grounds but unfortunately we were unable to visit even the grounds because we had our dogs with us and unable to leave them in the car for any length of time due to the warm weather. For anyone without dogs it could have been the perfect place but unfortunately not for us. We shall go back to Cumberland or North Yorkshire in the future where we are guaranteed to be made welcome along with our dogs."

"We stayed here from 14th February 2015 through to the 21st February. The cottage was lovely and the views amazing! The garden was ideal for our dog and he enjoyed watching the sheep in the adjoining fields. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. If I had to comment on anything it would be the bathroom which does not have a bath, this was no problem for us but should a family with young children be staying, they would struggle to wash the children in the shower which was tight. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future. The locals are very friendly and we would recommend popping into the Impromptu cyclist cafe in Elsdon village, lovely people and nice food."

"We stayed in Magnolia Lodge for 3 nights, as a group of 5 adults and booked this particular lodge as it looked good value. Firstly the positives were the location being so close to kielder forest, the beds were comfy, the hot tub was good fun and the local creperie restaurant was fantastic. However despite being advertised as dog friendly it wasn't particularly set up appropriately for dogs. Also the second double room was clearly only meant for a single bed as you could only just squeeze two people and a bed in there. Lastly the only choice of wine glasses were nasty plastic ones meant for the hot tub. None of this spoilt our stay but if we were to return to the area we would definately try somewhere else."

"Unfortunately for us, the owners were on holiday when we arrived and the lady who let us in had not cleaned the property. The kitchen and bathroom were OK, but the sofas were splattered with mud and there was dog hair all over the floors. I would give the owners the benefit of the doubt and would think that it would have been cleaned properly if they had not been away. There were a lot of cobwebs and spiders which we had to get rid of as the kids were scared of the spiders. Outside of the cottage was gravel and there was a grass area which did have fence around the edge, but there wasn't a gate at the entrance. However the cottage is a long way from the road and our dogs did not run off."

"Lovely traditional wooden lodge with hot tub. Looked a little tired in places but clean and comfy and well equipped. Would have liked more privacy with the tub with for example wicker fencing, it is overlooked by neighbours and the site road. Also needs some storage in the bathroom, e.g. shelves or cupboard. We went in winter and the lodge warms quickly. The local area is superb for walking and exploring, especially Kielder and the Scottish Borders. The local pub is superb for food and atmosphere with very friendly staff and locals. Overall we would recommend Magnolia Lodge to friends, even when the Army is firing on the nearby range!"
