What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Dumfries And Galloway To Rent.

"This has the potential to be a nice holiday cottage but it was sadly lacking in facilities, needed a good clean and was very scruffy.Basic things like no hooks to hang coats up on, only 4 coat hangers and only two wardrobes (two of the bedrooms had no wardrobes), no signal in the TV in the main living room (the TV in the other room did work), no logs or facilities for lighting the fire (important as the central heating boiler was not working when we arrived (when flagged to the owner he simply gave us the number of a plumber and told us to light a fire), no oven gloves, cheese grater, chopping board or place mats, no tourist information. We had to clean the kitchen cupboards, the kitchen floor was sticky, the bedding smelt of Fabreze rather cleanliness and was very poor quality, the paint on some of the ceilings was peeling off. The gate was hanging off its hinges and there was an old boiler in the garden.I could go on.We did not try the hot tub. Dog owners note : the garden is not secure."

"Lovely break away with the family (2 adults, 3 boys and 2 rough collies). Definite pluses include: great hot tub, clean (although did find a used grill pan in the oven), massive fridge/freezer, on Asda delivery route, simple grey deco throughout, 2 chill-out rooms with large TVs (kids now saying that we need to get a bigger one!) and separate dining room, really comfy sofas and decent sized enclosed garden to let dogs out, oh and the washing machine and dryer were also great to use!!. Minor minuses include: the lack of coat hooks at the door and a mat for wet peoples coming in from the hot tub (although we used the many dog towels that I had brought with us) and the lack of paths for walking close to the house. We cycled to the Abbey on the road but it wasn't ideal for the dogs. The gate didn't close properly but wasn't a problem for us. And walks also weren't a problem as the Galloway forest Park and beaches were reachable by car (20 mins)."

"A lovely spacious cottage, very bright, clean with a generous welcome pack on arrival.Enclosed rear garden but with steps up to lawn, tricky for elderly member of our group. Good scenic walks within a few yards of cottage, especially good if you've got a dog with you. Local amenities in Newton Stewart met all of our needs. There were a few downsides such as:There were no blackout blinds/curtains at bedroom windows. It is incredibly bright early morning as windows face east. Uncovered velux over bedhead in one room.No coat hooks provided downstairs, important for drying wet coats etc. No written instructions for TV, a bit challenging for these non IT savvy visitors!Feel simple privacy locks or signs should be provided on bathroom doors.Didn't expect the last 200 yards of approach road to be so pot holed, rutted and quite steep..again tricky for the less able, mobility wise."

"This trip wasn't really for a holiday but it did serve our purpose so in that sense the location was good. On the downside there wasn't really a garden to sit outside in the summer, but parking was very convenient . In terms of the village. Some good shops, cafes and bars in easy walking distance. Inside the property was spotless and well equipped. The highlight for us was customer care. The owner was very interested in our comfort and went to great lengths to help us make our stay an enjoyable one. He kindly arranged a nice setup for us to enjoy a BBQ with some friends one evening and was informative with local places to eat and drink. We'd definitely recommend you anyone planning to stay in the area. If you are looking for a hidden corner with some surprising scenery, avoiding the usual west coast tourist spots it's an ideal base ."

"A beautiful cottage which was exceptionally clean. Very comfortable sofas and beds and well stocked kitchen. Excellent WiFi signal and NOW tv channels. Location was perfect for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. There was no hair dryer in the cottage so remember to take your own (I didn't). The double bedroom has a skylight above the bed with no blind on and the vertical blinds on the other window let the light through. I'm sure this won't bother most people but I'm used to black out blinds so I was awake at 5 am every morning which was a little annoying. However this would not stop me returning as it was such a lovely home. There was a lovely welcome pack when we arrived. The finishing touches in this cottage really made a difference. Wonderful!"
