"A weird location, being in a business park. Not an obvious choice of location for a holiday let. Noise from lorries going in and out, and occasionally bothered by lorry drivers at the door, thinking we were somehow relevant to them! The house would benefit from:1 better information in the booklet about nearby attractions/ facilities (e.g. nearest supermarket, best local pubs, days out, etc)2 better kitchen layout - it is not a cook's kitchen - it is well served for glasses and crockery and cutlery but I strongly suggest you get some more stuff e.g. measuring jug, scales, baking trays (we have left you a potato peeler!) and cake tin, serving spoons, salad servers3 being able to convert the double beds into singles to allow more flexibility4 working air con on the ground floor - we could not get it to work in the corridor with the three rooms coming off5 a hot tub that isn't over 40 degrees centigrade! --- it was far too hot --- and it needs filling with more water6 the games room is great but we couldn't get the space invaders or the fruit machine to work - maybe time to upgrade/ replace?7 more keys/ fobs. Two is not enough for a house that sleeps 14 in 7 different double rooms. Or give guests the combination code so they can key it into the gate and get through. It was such a pain having only two between us. On the plus side, the house was spotlessly clean and we were really impressed by Eva and Paul in particular, who responded to our issues very promptly. The dishwasher gave out while we were there and they dealt with it really well. Great towels and linen. Thanks also for the goodie basket."

"We booked Leyburn Manor for three nights including Valentine's Day. The idea was for our children and grand-children to get together all under one roof. We arrived first and were absolutely blown away with everything we saw. I couldn't wait for the rest of the family to arrive. I can still hear their gasps of "wow" and see the looks of wonder on their faces. There were seven children ranging from two to eleven years. Nine year old Jack made straight for the snooker room - he loved it. This was also popular with the adults. The younger children enjoyed the freedom of space and needed very little in the way of any other entertainment. Wonderfully comfortable beds set in huge bedrooms with ample spacious, interesting bathrooms. All nineteen of us sat round the dining table for Sunday dinner. Cooking together in the well equipped kitchen was fun. I loved the house so much I could have spent all my time in it. We did, however walk to Leyburn and two families explored the castle and the children played in the house's garden. A beautiful house in a lovely part of Yorkshire."

"You know when you book cottages and you look at the pictures and hope that the place you finally choose is half as good as it looks on line , we’ll i can tell you that haddicks nook is better in reality it’s just gorgeous and very clean , it has a modern layout with a gloss red kitchen that is stuffed to the gills with every implement you could possibly need including a washer dryer ! Although if you put some washing on the line it’ll be dry before you hang the last item . The bathrooms are lovely fully tiled with beams in the family bathroom ( which is very spacious) . Both bedrooms are a good size with plenty of room both have solid wood wardrobes and dressing tables which are in great condition . The carpets are soft and clean in the bedrooms and the beds are comfortable with spotlessly clean linens. Outside all you can see is fields ,trees , hedges ,lots and lots of ducks and pheasants . I can honestly say it’s the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in, just gorgeous and we didn’t want to leave todayMore"

"Fantastic location. Great many North Yorkshire attractions are located within 1 hour of driving time radius. We've stayed for 2 weeks, since a list of our days out was very long. Great rural retreat. Secluded, with 100% privacy. Bunnies, squirrels, and pheasants in immediate surrounding. Odour of barley fields - we'll treasure forever, as "smell of Yorkshire".Extremely friendly hosts. During the planning stages of our trip, I've contacted Claire ( the landlady ) great many times with questions. Always received most useful/helpful advice. We're planning to return in a couple of years. I'll be recommending Haddock's Nook to all our friends, who'd like to explore North Yorkshire. We'd like to express our gratitude to everybody at the Rising Sun Farm, who had contributed to the success of our stay."
