What our customers say about their holidays

    • Michelle - Verified booking

      Love, love, love!

The cottage was absolutely stunning, the listing didn't actually do it justice. On arrival there were the necessary basics to have a brew after a long drive, plus some extra treats too. Everything was set up as asked, it was cosy and comfortable. Would recommend anyone wanting to do a bit of stargazing, the view over the fields from the upstairs balcony is stunning both night and day. Sandy and Ben are quite honestly the friendliest horses ever, was a real pleasure to go out and spend time with them in a morning. Close enough to amenities but definitely a rural location for some well needed R & R. The Internet isn't fantastic but that wasn't an issue for us and is beyond the owners control due to the upcoming PSTN switch off, it's a good feeling doing a technology detox - overall for us it was absolutely perfect. Another lovely little touch which we discovered as we were leaving was the dresser full of books which the owners have left for people to take away if they wish. Have every intention of returning to this little piece of heaven. ❤️ Thank you to the Higgins family for sharing this beautiful property.

The cottage is newly renovated and exceeded our exceeded our expectations.

It was very clean, well equipped with plenty of cutlery, dinnerware, towels etc. & tastefully furnished to a very good standard. The beds are extremely comfortable and the shower/bath work well. Although it was winter when we stayed the cottage was toasty warm thanks to the heating system and log fire. The horses stables (there are 2 horses) in the front yard was a huge highlight of our stay. It was just fantastic watching them from the comfort of our home. It was great to get to know the family who own the cottage who are very welcoming and ensured we were looked after. The location of the cottage is a perfect balance of being close to amenities and the city of Swansea but also being in a peaceful rural location. It is within reach of a huge variety of attractions, beaches and waterfalls (a quick browse on google will show these). We made some amazing memories here and will hopefully return (in warmer weather!). Would highly recommend booking Cwrt Y Wennol as holiday accommodation if visiting South Wales.

Gwynfryn was a lovely tastefully renovated house, with all the comforts of home.

The kitchen was well equipped with up to date appliances and plenty of cooking utensils and crockery. Three TVs with Sky included, an unexpected bonus. Comfy beds, ample bedding and two bathrooms. The garden still needs a bit of attention but I'm sure this will eventually be up to the same standard as the rest of the property. We have been holidaying in self catering accommodation for many many years and this is definitely one of the best. Cannot recommend it enough. The village of Penclawd is very well positioned for touring the Gower peninsula. It has a very well equipped supermarket, two butchers, two pubs (only one serves food), hairdressers, fish and chip shop and Indian takeaway plus a brand new children's playground. There are beautiful views over the estuary and walks along it.

Enjoyed our stay at Aadreff. It's a well equipped bungalow in a quiet location . The roads leading to it are quite steep so I would suggest the less able person would struggle a bit. The property is a short 5 minute walk from the coastal path which we found to be a lovely walk across to Rotherslade beach which is a mile and not overly strenuous. The bungalow is approximately a 15 minute walk across to the more populated Mumbles road area where there are plenty of pubs / eateries. Recommend the Pilot for real ale brewed on the premises The bungalow itself is cosy with a double bedroom and another bedroom with two single beds. There is a lovely big bathroom with walk in shower And the main room is a kitchen / lounge area

This cottage is in a great location for the Mumbles, just down the hill to the shops, cafes, prom and playground. Also just round the corner is an entrance to the nature reserve where you can walk over the headland to Bracelet Bay, this is a lovely outing / dog walk with great views and wildlife. The hill is very steep and it's best to park in a different street nearby. There is free parking on side streets further up which was fine in April. House is pretty small and basic but with all the things you need especially if you are going to be out on the beaches all day. The heating is good. We had a good time with a great week of weather!.
