What our customers say about their holidays

      Were to begin?

As reported back in June 2023, the kitchen cupboard under the sink absolutely stank and the smell permeated through the house unless you kept the lounge door closed all the time. We had to leave both outside door in the kitchen area open to actually go into the kitchen to do anything. There were cobwebs on top of the kitchen units (which we removed), but the actual unit tops are filthy dirty with grease and grim. The oven is filthy and can not be used in that condition. The shower was black with mould all along the door bottom runners and in the corners and again had to be cleaned thoroughly before use. To the main bedroom, there is bedding stored in the clothes hanging area. Whether this was clean or dirty is anybodies guess. As for the cleaning equipment stored in the utility/cloakroom, well the vacuum cleaner looked like it had never been empted, so not really useable. The garden table and chairs are so rusty you would stain your clothing if you sat down and used them, so were useless. The internet was practically useless as connection was intermittent and for the most part not connected. We took our first day and and a half giving the house a clean, but still could not get rid of the smell/stench in the kitchen cupboard under the sink Its a shame as the house could be very nice if it was thoroughly cleaned and maintained. It was in a nice area with shops and eating places nearby.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your property.

We have had a fantastic holiday. The cottage is in a great location, near to our points of interest; Nevern and Fishguard. It is a 15 minute walk to the beach and has a few local shops and pubs (but most don't serve alcohol until 4pm). The facilities were good, plenty of pans, cups, cutlery, dishwasher, washing machine, freezer, etc. But the fridge didn't seem cold enough, even when turned up all the way. So unfortunately our meat turned bad and needed to be thrown in the bin. Also the scissors were broken and the knifes were blunt, which was abit of an inconvenience when cooking. Thank you for the welcome back. The local walks, recipes and Welsh language was a nice touch. It was great to have a contact book of health care facilities, vets, etc for if we needed them. The only negative really is that the Internet is really slow. Most of the time we struggled to use it. Because of this, the property could really do with a smart TV with access to more TV channels or a Netflix account. As we were quite bored in the evenings and wanted to relax in the property.

We had a comfortable stay in this cosy little building in a lovely little town in a beautiful area.

.. with free parking. We had a few (hum-drum but potentially frustrating) minor issues within our first couple of hours, but, the owners, once we were able to contact them [our signal was very very poor/patchy in the vicinity! :-( ] were very swift and efficient in sorting them out for us. Some of the previous reviews raise other issues, & the owners are clearly keen to take these comments on board & further improve guests' experience. They are very amenable & friendly. The TV offers Netflix & Amazon Prime as well as iPlayer & many stations...but we are low-tech, so couldn't get the former two to work as they required apps that we didn't have access to...so, advice regarding this for old duffers like us (no smart phones!) would be beneficial. The locality is full of super independent shops, pubs, cafes & restaurants, as well as wonderful walks in spectacular scenery. We had a lovely short break despite the predictable Feb'-like weather... :-/ ... and would recommend Ty Rydd, which is well on the way to being an exceptional little gem. :-)

Great location for village and pubs although as mentioned before, on a very busy junction.

This was Sept so should imagine at the height of season, parking would be very difficult for the less confident, as have to reverse onto drive. House is compact but everything we needed in modern kitchen, lounge, double and single bedroom. Single sleeps two children as one bed is a trundle, but that is stated clearly on description. As previously stated, seating only for three in lounge, ok for us as a couple but for a family of four would be difficult. Generally clean but quite a few cobwebs. Probably the first property we have stayed in (and there have been a few) where there has been no welcoming pack, not even a bottle of milk and very sparse on soap, washing up liquid etc even in current times. Beautiful beach is a two mile drive away, passing the estuary on the way. Parking not a problem, stunning views and very dog friendly. Two or three good pubs a few minutes walk away. Definitely recommend The Castle for its food and friendly staff. Overall a very nice stay and would recommend this place for its location alone

We arrived on 25/3/23 to be greeted by Anne and David.

David showed us to the accomodation and we found a traditional welsh Barra Brith cake, fresh milk in the fridge and tea & coffee. What a welcome. Well that went down very well indeed. Yummy. The property itself is set in a very quiet cul de sac and it is beautiful. A very comfortable annexe style place. With all the bits n bobs you need for a great holiday. Very comfortable bed. Lovely garden. And a shower room that was just so dam good. The lounge had a lovely feel also. Decorated with Davids amazing photos on the wall. Yes he is a pro. The kitchen was well equipped modern and very clean. The bedroom had wonderfull patio style doors leading on to a patio area and garden. Marvelous in the warmer months. But the weather was not so kind for us. But nonetheless once again very clean and comfortable. The local area is wonderfull to visit with some really nice places and eateries nearby. But for us the star/stars of the show were David and Anne whos hospitality were beyond compare. We will be definately coming back.
