      We had a lovely time in Lighthouse cottage and in Scarborough. The cottage was so close to the sea front. Everything in Scarborough was walking distance, at least for us, the castle, the harbour, the beach, the Italian gardens, Peasholm Park, the shops. So many places for coffee and meals too. My 4 for comfort was that the single bed mattresses were uncomfortable and gave us both back ache by the end of the week. Also the stairs are a trial and though we coped they were something that reduced the comfort slightly. We suspected they would so used the twin room and our daughter had the top room. 4 for value was because if I'd booked two weeks later I'd have saved £100. 4 for booking is I just tend to look for the property where and when we want to go and for one I like rather than use of a particular catalogue. 5 for recommend OC. I don't recommend often. My family and friends have their own way of finding and booking their hols. And most could not afford to rent a cottage anyway

      The property was very clean and well equipped with all basic Essentials - cleaning products ,bin bags, tin foil, t.

      Bags, hand wash, T.roll, washing up liquid , salt n pepper, all appreciated when holidaying via public transport. The lounge seating was lovely n comfortable with large tv screen for cosy nights in. Shower good, we couldn’t turn temperature up much ,it appeared set, but it was warm enough for us . Bedroom was a good size with a comfy bed and lovely clean fresh white bedding. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. Having a back exit was ideal as steps down to basement a bit steep especially with suitcases. The guest book reflects on people’s lovely stays at NBRetreat which shows the thought and care the owner has put in to the apartment to ensure guests have a lovely holiday Overall we enjoyed our stay, would definitely book again and hopefully come with a new little dog next time.       On arrival through the front door I had some reservations due to the hall and the stairs being very dark.

      However, when we entered the appartment it was lovely. Furnished to a high standard, comfortable and plenty of room. The welcome pack was good. The back door was a blessing and we used it all the time. Parking excellent as it is early season but fear in the height of the summer it wouldn't be. A few extra mugs and other crockery would be good as only 3 mugs left but I did buy another white mug and left it there. I know it is for two adults but it would mean we wouldn't have to wash up as much and would use the dishwasher like we do at home. Situated in an area that's close to the North Bay and only 15mins into town. We have been coming to Scarborough since 1985 and will definately be coming back to North Bay Retreat.

      For the ideal holiday location The Lighthouse Cottage, Tuthill, Scarborough cannot be beaten. Within a minute to the seafront, this cottage is clean, has all mod cons and a home from home. he four storey cottage allows you to holiday without feeling cramped and under each others feet as you would with some holiday accommodation. The cottage has everything you need, even supplied with kitchen essentials. The locals are welcoming and friendly and gave us advise on entertainment for our stay. Booking with Ingrid Flute Holidays was straightforward and simple to do. Would not want to stay anywhere else or book with any other company, already book for 2019.       Lovely property in a great location and very well equipped.

      Nice touch with the welcome pack. Although the visit was a disaster for us, as my Wife had a very nasty fall on the first morning we were there and spent the first day, all day in A&E at Scarborough Hospital. Unfortunately had to return home the following day as my Wife had really bad injuries to her face and was in a lot of Pain. Spoke to Ben the owner to let him know we were leaving early and kindly advised it may well be prudent to provide emergency numbers in the information guide and to also provide a First Aid Kit. We were very lucky we took ours with us. All in all, despite all this we would love to re-visit at some point.
