Snaptrip says

Stonecrop Cottage is set in a stunning, quiet village location, ideal for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat. The local pub's proximity and the comfort of the bed are highlights. However, the property shows signs of wear and requires attention to reach its full potential.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including cobwebs, a dirty kitchen, and a general need for a deep clean. The presence of insects and the state of the garden also detract from the overall cleanliness.

The cottage's location is consistently praised for its wonderful setting and proximity to nature and a local pub. It is well-placed for those looking to enjoy the outdoors.

The comfort of the king-sized bed is noted positively, but there are concerns about the property being cool and dark, and the garden being overgrown. The conservatory is mentioned as cosy on a sunny day.

Facilities are a mixed bag, with some guests finding the cottage well-appointed, while others report maintenance issues like a leaking conservatory, a dangerous towel rail, and a lack of parking due to an ATV.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The cottage is looking a bit "tired" inside. The shelving in the wardrobe had no support. The step down into the bathroom from the bedroom should have a warning strip. At night it is very easy to miss the step and stumble. The All Terrain Vehicle which occupied the driveway proved to be a nuisance. I phoned up during our stay to complain but it remained there throughout

It is cold, damp (even in August) and dirty. The garden is so overgrown that you cannot use it. The conservatory leaks, dripping from the ceiling when it rains. The kitchen was so dirty that we did not use any of the equipment or crockery which was all stained and chipped. There was grim everywhere and thick cobwebs. There were alot of flies and even cockroaches. If we didnt have to stay due to home renovations then we would have left on day 1.

Off road parking was unavailable throughout my stay due to an all terrain vehicle which never moved - far from ideal when unpacking and packing the car. I felt compelled to do a high dust throughout to remove the thick cobwebs. There is a large damp patch spanning the full height of the wall in the corner of the bedroom - I opened windows and even bought a plug in air freshener in an attempt to combat the smell of damp in the bedroom which can also be found on the bedding, and now all my clothes. The garden is overgrown, to the extent I supervised my dogs as felt they might get lost, or trapped, in the mass of weeds, roots, plants and bushes. This is the first I have felt the need to include negative comments in all my years of renting holiday cottages - given this was not a cheap booking, I expected higher standards given the cost.
