    Self-catering holidays in Padstow

For a holiday that's a wonderful blend of quirky traditions and modern amenities, booking one of our Padstow Cottages should be at the top of your list. On the face of it, Padstow is a working fishing port with old-school charm and rustic character. Dig a little deeper and you'll find that this chocolate-box town has plenty to offer visitors, no matter what your interests might be.

Courtesy of Rick Stein, Padstow has become something of a hotspot for foodies. His restaurant showcases local fishing and farming in delicious dishes served in classy surroundings. Celebrity-run restaurants aside, most of our Padstow Cottages are within easy reach of some lovely pubs and inns and, of course, the ubiquitous chippies. But, if fish isn't your dish, keep an eye out for the local pasties, widely-hailed as the 'best in the west'.

As you're by the sea, you might as well plonk yourself on one of the stunning beaches in the area - Chidley Pumps, Trevone and Harlyn beaches are all worth a visit. Sporting types might like to try their hand at surfing and there are plenty of surf schools in the area. Booking one of our holiday cottages in Padstow puts you within easy reach of all this and much more.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Solomon - Verified booking

We had a lovely and comfortable stay at St Piran's. The location was perfect for us being so close to where everything is happening in Padstow. Cleanliness was good and we had everything we needed. It was a very relaxing and fairly modern property to stay in with minimal noise outside considering how close to the heart of Padstow it is plus we stayed here at peak time. I would recommend St Piran's to my friends and family for sure. As mentioned in the need-to-know section, there are several internal and external steps within and outside of the property. I think it will help guests (especially families) to know that as well as the two kitchen/dining stairs, stairs to the other 2 floors and to the outdoor terraces, there is also a very small step down into the lounge (easy to forget it is there), quite a step up into both showers and a complicated stair layout as they curve up to the first floor and across to the bathroom (a potential hazard when visiting the bathroom during the night). Had we known this, we may not have booked this accommodation as we stayed here with quite a frail family member. We knew when booking that he'd be able to manage the stairs to the first floor bedroom and up to the outdoor terrace with our help, however, we had to keep an eye on him pretty much all the time as he moved from room to room. If you are tall, which 3 of our guests were including my partner's father, the low doorways are also a potential hazard. I'm not sure where the enclosed lawned garden was that is mentioned in the description. We didn't miss it though as the weather wasn't the best for our stay. Perhaps a photo of it might help? We parked in a car park about a 10 minute walk away from the accommodation which worked well for us and we were able to park temporarily outside the house to load the car and pick up the family to go out for the day. We would stay here again for sure as it is a lovely accommodation and a fab location, however, we regret we won't be able to stay again with a frail family member.

Beautiful house, clean and bright with everything you could wish for and the kitchen sink! I was really pleased to see tableware and cutlery for children, amazing! Thoughtfulness of the tea, coffee, wine and cookies on arrival as well as the milk was very much appreciated after a long journey. Only 2 negatives are that we felt the property lacked power sockets/weren't set out for ideal use. The road is VERY noisy. We were lucky with the weather so needed the windows open at night. It's a particularly busy road or at least it was on our stay. Being at the top of the hill most cars are in a lower gear to get up the hill so the noise was particularly loud. Beautifully positioned for a good walk into town. 2 of our party weren't fully fit (injuries) so they struggled to walk what a local called cardiac hill but they got the bus from across the road and we were happy to walk. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

We barely needed the heating system but there are no instructions on how to use a complex system.

I went to the office where you have an identical system and nobody knew how to use that either. Some explanation needed including ideally don’t touch it as I think others had tried as every heater said a different thing. Plenty of hot water but none in kitchen if bath runs. This is almost certainly rectified by a part on the mega flow cylinder. Otherwise small but charming and perfect for the golf course. I do think it is a bit curious thatwhen my wife rang to ask if there was a cafetière or coffee maker.( should have been on website ) she was told that it would be a breach of security so t she couldn’t be told. Woke gone mad !!

We have just left Mabley Cottage after a blissful short stay. As a regular visitor to Padstow I was apprehensive about trying somewhere new, however, it has been fabulous, being a dog owner and having to stay in places that welcome dogs sometimes isn't always a positive experience. Mabley Cottage was spotless & your polite requests to not allowing dogs on furniture was really reassuring. We will be back soon! Sue, Mark and Mabel the dog.

This is a spacious property in a good location. Six adults stayed here for the Padstow Christmas Festival and we could park 3 cars with no difficulty which was ideal. Good sized rooms, lovely welcome pack provided and good value for money. New living room furniture and beds were a nice surprise. Cornish Horizons have an easy booking process. Friendly team. Good standard of property. Highly recommended.
