The market town of Hexham (5.5 miles) is nearby where you can visit Hexham Abbey, stroll around the delightful Sele Park, play golf, spend a fun day at the horse racing and town shops. Explore the nearby Roman town of Corbridge (8.1 miles) for a snapshot of Roman life in the museum, independent shops, pubs, and friendly eateries and you are just a few miles from Hadrian s Wall, walking and cycling routes. More fascinating Roman history and beautiful scenery await you at the forts of both Vindolanda with its amazing museum and café (16.9 miles) and Housesteads. Visit The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre (17.8 miles) and Newcastle s city centre (26.9 miles). This 15th century former 'bastle' house is a romantic retreat full of character and thoughtful touches for a memorable stay. It enjoys a quiet, rural spot within beautiful grounds on a working farm and offers a well positioned haven to return to after exploring the area s many beautiful and historic attractions. Access to the property is via a half mile long private drive surrounded by glorious open countryside. Walk up the stone steps to reach the front door and admire the views before heading inside. The lounge/kitchen and bedroom are laid out in one large space, studio style, and feature thick, stone walls, high ceilings, and exposed, solid beams which all add to the sense of space and character. In the lounge area, there is a comfortable sofa where you can snuggle up in front of the cosy wood burner set in a large, inglenook fireplace after a busy day to watch a movie on the Smart TV. The bespoke kitchen has everything you need to make snacks, meals, and drinks. Please be aware there is no dining furniture. The floor naturally slopes a little towards the bedroom area where you have a unique king size bed and plenty of storage for your things. There is a second seating area with two comfortable chairs in front of a wide window where you can sit with a book and drinks. The shower room is separated by two half doors and has a shower cubicle and WC. Outside, there are two folding chairs you can use to sit outside either at the top of the external stairs to watch the sunset or at the foot of the stairs to enjoy some star gazing. Need to know: 1 bedroom king size. 1 bathroom with shower cubicle and WC. Electric hob and oven and fridge. Wood burner (first basket of logs provided). Smart TV. Dogs must be on a lead around the farm. Garden chairs. Off road parking for 1 car. Shops, pubs, and restaurants 5.5 miles. Note a flight of stone steps leads up to the front door of the property.
