"The flat was a second choice for us. Starting with the positives well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, nice bright lounge/diner but high windows as on 2nd floor had to stand to see the view which was lovely. The owners were very helpful and met us on arrival, and left some nice touches chocolates, tea, coffee, wine etc. Cleanliness could have been better the kitchen work surfaces were not clean. The massive let down was the bathroom The photo only showed the loo and the description was "shower over bath" we assumed that to be the case. Reality was a shower 3 foot above the bath and because the ceiling sloped you could not stand and shower (not unless you are 3 foot tall) so you had to bath not shower. The whole bathroom was grotty paint peeling and a ramshackle towel rack hung on the door. If we had known this we would not have booked. If the owners upgraded the bathroom it would be acceptable as long as you don't mind 2 flights of stairs."

" This is our second visit to Easdale Island and I wish we could have stayed! People talk to you there - not intrusively but like you're one of the family, like they care and are interested. The cottage is lovely. It's a bit basic but it does everything you need of it and if you take anything away from Easedale it's the sense that the trimmings which we are pressurised into draping over ourselves and our houses are really unnecessary distractions to the art of just being human and living in the moment! There have been dolphins playing round the ferry this week and yesterday we had our lunch on the rocks trying to eat as near to the sea spray as we could. We lit the fire every night and just read books - can't remember the last time I did that at home! Wonderful! "

"We have just come back from spending a very relaxing week on Clachan Seil at the willowburn cottages, the surrounding scenery and views are beautiful and it is soooo quiet, if it’s peace and quiet you want there’s nowhere better. The cottage is very nice and comfortable, clean and fresh with all mod cons, the only downside I could see there was that if you went in the colder months you might not be warm enough in the downstairs area of the house as there is only one electric panel heater heating the living area which is open plan to the kitchen. The owners are very nice and don’t bother you but are near by if you need them. There is a lovely old pub just a 5 minute walk away in one direction and a shop about 2 miles away in the other direction. We would definitely go back again."

" If you spend your life working six-seven days a week, under constant pressure of deadlines and customer/target demands, never knowing your neighbours and craving for "peace", visit this traffic free idyll with its stunning scenery. The cottage is well-equipped and maintained with excellent local support. The community spirit is so obvious in its contrast to most modern day experiences and centres on the Puffer Bar which serves superb food. I have never felt so welcomed anywhere and cannot wait to return. "

"The squirrels dray is ideal for using as a base for touring the West coast of Scotland. The cabin is well equipped, clean and tidy ideal for two people, its remote location provides privacy ,peace and quiet if required. The owners Sean and Kate are friendly and welcoming, as they live close by are always available if you have any problems or need any advise or a quick course on working the T.V. We enjoyed our stay very much and would have no hesitation recommending the Squirrels Dray."
