"This could be an excellent town centre property, but1. Only 3 chairs in the living room and this is a 4 bed flat2. No information about heating which I could not get to work. Also its design appears to prevent any of the flat getting any useful heat except for the living room, seemingly making the bathroom towel rail useless3. Finish in the bathroom was poor with ragged gaps round the soilpipe where it goes into the wall and very dirty. Damp has been running down one wall near to the light switch.4. Only 2 bath towels provided for 3 people5. No chairs in the bedrooms6. No useful storage in the twin bedroom7. Vertical blinds but no curtains at the windows, so with bright streetlights on all night it is never dark. Blinds also make the windows appear barred at night; not especially welcoming. And on a personal note, the TV is needlessly huge for such a small room and has lousy reception, and some of the kitchen equipment was very poor.If the owner thought a bit about what he should be providing this could be so much better.Looking at the comments from other renters since the beginning of 2015 almost all have had reservations about the flat, it's disappointing to know he's had this feedback and the flat has remained poor."

"After reading other reviews, I almost cancelled immediately! So glad I didn't. The property could quite easily get five stars if the owners spent some time on it. You can see the money spent on the place to bring an old building to life but such little things would make it so much better....The bed could be better and the bedding was so old and faded (nothing matched) but was clean and smelt clean, but the towels were lovely thick quality ones. The place really needs a clean. The bathroom floor was dirty, behind the loo, the shower tray the tap...... Really is a quick win. Get a better cleaner! The location is really central close to everything you need. The fact it's above a subway store means it smells a little when you first go in, but it soon fades..The property could also do with an information pack! I had to google how to use the hob..lol, and we didn't know what to do with the rubbish.. We began taking it out with us and put some in the bins on the street! We actually really enjoyed our stay there and it was good value for money, but we couldn't visit again as my eighty year old parents found the stairs real hard work."

"The house was really spacious, good for a family stay. Location is ok, enjoyed Alnwick and Newcastle, not much to do in the Berwick upon tweed/spittal area. Nice if your looking for a quiet getaway. On arrival we were given a bouquet of cupcakes which was a nice gesture. It says wifi is free but they ask for £5 a week for using it. Not a big deal but It didn't work at all when we were there. On the day of arrival we were told don't rush away, as the next people to stay were arriving 5 days later. We were eating breakfast and hadn't packed to leave and there was a knock at the door, the cleaners had arrived. We were then told to leave the property within 15 minutes. I was not happy with the attitude of them, very rude,It spoiled the end of a good stay. So we had to rush. I personally wouldn't stay here again, but recommend it for others. The property was value for money for the time of year."

"We were very dissapointed to find that this was a basement flat and that there was no sea view. Perhaps we had misread the property description. You have to go up the front outside stairs to see all the views. ( The vegetation is covering the handrail ) Entrance to and from the property is via the back entrance which is not in Wellington Terrace. We were rather worried about the amount of glass tables and they are not exactly child friendly. Pehaps that is why you have to pay a cash deposit towards damages, which we did get back. The flat appears clean but on closer inspection it feels as though it could do with a deep clean once in a while. Lots of cobwebs. There is a good supply of utensils and equipment. However, the dials on the cooker are no longer visible and you have to guess the oven temperature. The main rooms and hall are spacious. A quiet and pleasant place to stay."

"Stairs to "cottage" very steep. Unsuitable for anyone with poor movement. No instructions for any of the equipment. Unable to operate the electric hob. No Guest Book to write any review. No guide to local "stuff" only leaflets possibly left by previous users. Outside of windows needed cleaning. Seat and couch uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time. Beds comfortable. Bathroom tidy but no toiletries. Kitchen had little washing up liquid and no hand soap anywhere. It was okay for a few nights stay. How to get in instructions need updating, as "shoe shop" no longer there and the number above the door is for 3 Church Street. A parking disc permit could have been purchased for £1 which allows parking near the premises. This could have been made available or at least instructions on purchasing one."
