What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Southgate - Verified booking

The cottage is absolutely lovely. We are fussy and we would most definitely return. Full of character and charm. Everything you need is there including all of the basic kitchen equipment. Do look in all of the kitchen cupboards and drawers upon arrival. There are pan scrubbers, washing up liquid, washing tablets and dishwasher tablets tea towels, oven mits and pegs etc (saves packing space). The location is quiet and peaceful. The beach is a straight walk through the caravan site and it is flat. The walk took us ten minutes and we think half a mile. The beach is dog friendly. The owners are helpful and approachable - I have some issues that require me to make contact before arrival and they were extremely accommodating. Onsite restaurant allows dogs out on the balcony which has a roof and heaters. If you are over 6 foot tall and have looked at the photos dont worry about the bedroom ceilings. There is only one beam at the top of the stars that you may have to duck just a little. Both bedrooms would be fine if you slept on the right side of the bed. My husband had no issues. We would highly recommend the cottage and the location, which is about 3/12 miles from Barmouth and 7 from Harlech.

    • Mr Simpson - Verified booking

The cottage was delightful with great views of the beach and the sea. However there was no information as to how to access the beach which would have been really useful. We discovered towards the end of our holiday that there was access on to the beach south of the railway station. It is possible to access the beach by going through the caravan site across the road from the cottage but it was signed “site clientele only”. We think more information regarding beach access would have been really useful. Online info stated there would be a welcome pack on our arrival, however this constituted a packet of Welsh cakes and a small carton of milk. We don’t consider this to be a welcome pack. Either a proper welcome pack should be provided or mention of it deleted from the website. However we had a very pleasant stay overall.

We’ve had a fantastic week in the cottage and would definitely go back. The cottage is in a stunning location with great views of the sea (which is only 5 minute walk) and hills. It’s so peaceful with a lovely enclosed garden which is safe for a dog. Barmouth is only a 10 minute drive and there’s a well stocked Spar and Onestop in Talybont which is a 5 minute drive. Just down the road is a great restaurant (Nineteen 57) and takeaway. The cottage is equipped with everything you need for a great break away. The smart tv and WiFi are excellent (thumbs up from our 15 and 17 year olds).

    • Ian from Cheshire - Verified booking

The property was amazing. A traditional character cottage modernised to the highest standard - the owners are to be congratulated. There's a very neat parking space leading to the tasteful garden area with fabulous sea views, then a practical (tiled floor with underfloor heating), but welcoming entrance leading upstairs to a well laid out modern kitchen and living area with those stunning sea views. The bathroom is ultra modern - even our 2 year old grandson loved the shower and didn't miss his bath at all. If anyone is looking for a small cottage, then this must be the Best in Wales!

    • John from Derbyshire - Verified booking

It was in a lovely location with sea views out of the bedroom and living room windows and mountain views out of the kitchen window. The property was very well equipped and modernised, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Alan is an excellent and helpful host. A short walk takes you down to the beach and the Nor Bar (with good food and drink) is about half a mile away. Barmouth has an excellent Co-Op and a variety of shops. Harlech is a short drive from the property and Aberdovey a short train ride across the spectacular Barmouth Estuary. The beaches are beautiful.
