"ery homely and well-equipped house with Microwave, Cooker, fridge, washing machine, TV, DVD player and HiFi. Comfortable lounge ideal for unwinding in the evening. Separate dining room and everything was very well presented. We were only the second people to rent it out, in August 2017 school holidays at approx. £500 a week it represented good value compared to B&B. Good size bedrooms with ample storage, comfortable beds and a VERY QUIET neighborhood leading to a peaceful night's rest. Downstairs there is a bathroom with Good electric shower and on-demand hot water for lots of baths! Nice sheltered garden although we did not use that nor the garage which is also included. Friendly approachable owners should you need to contact them. Lots of useful information provided in the house on local attractions, amenities ets. Note: Horse Riding: I thoroughly recommend Sinderhope Pony Treking Centre. 2.5 hour canter across the moors for experienced riders is awesome , and it is beautiful drive to the stables from Haltwhistle (approx. 30 mins). Location: Despite the quiet location It really is only 5 minutes walk to the supermarket, or the bustling high-street with lots of interesting shops, and literally only a couple of minutes round the corner from a nice park with swings etc for the kids. It is also ideally suited to accessing Hadrian’s wall, and should you want to visit Hexham (nice town with an interesting Cathedral incl Saxon Crypt) or Carlisle. There is a train station in haltwhistle and a good bus service if you prefer not to drive. Cons: The ONLY slight downside with the property is the very Steep driveway which is not suitable for wheel chair users and may pose issues for others with mobility issues. Would we use again? Definitively if visiting this area in the future I would have NO hesitation in doing so, especially outside of school holidays :-) . Summary: It was a lovely relaxing week and a smashing place to come back to at the end of the day"

"Before we travelled to Haltwhistle the Owners forwarded an E-mail, attaching a comprehensive information pack so that we would enjoy “Roseroy”. After we arrived in Haltwhistle we received a very warm welcome from the Owners, who had left milk in the fridge and shortbread biscuits to enjoy with tea or coffee. Roseroy was well equipped not only with all present-day facilities such as cooker, fridge, washing machine, TV, etc. but also provided everyday items such as bed sheets, towels, soap dispensers, toilet paper, kitchen towels, etc. No need to bring anything! Roseroy has a comfortable lounge and a separate dining room and one bedroom with double bed and one bedroom with twin beds and en-suite toilet/washbasin and a bathroom downstairs. There is a nice Garden at the back, a Garage and a somewhat steep drive to park the car! The Owners have left a host of information at Roseroy which comes in handy to make best use of the amenities offered in Haltwhistle or to explore the Tourist Attractions in the Area. Roseroy is conveniently located as it is in easy walking distance to the Town Centre or Sainsburys Store and it is ideally placed for the many Tourist Attractions that Northumberland has to offer, with Hadrian’s Wall a short travelling distance away. Maureen and Brian, the Owners, live in Haltwhistle and are easy to get hold of if there is a need to do so! We would have no hesitation to return to Roseroy or to recommend it to family members or friends."

"The cottage was lovely, but I had to go in and Hoover and polish, empty the fire and rinse the bath out! (The bath water was a very yellow colour) their was long dark hair in the master bedroom, none of my family are dark, so wasn't from us! I dont except to pay hundreds for a holiday to then go in and have to clean up on the first day! The bed in the master bedroom was very unfomy! The slats are not attach underneath so fall through constantly, i tryed to put them back on but cut my finger in the process. Their was a broken table in the living room, which was just balancing with a broken leg, lucky my husband noticed as it was sharp, the blankets in the living room absoulty stunk of dogs, I had to wash them all befor my children touched them. The blind that I assume was ment to be up in the kitchen was just rolled up and balancing over the top of the fire place in the kitchen leaving the cord just hanging down, the other blinds just had their cords hanging down aswell (very dangerous when you have children!) Theirs very little cupboard space and the kitchen table was very wobblerly (my husband had to tighten it all up) the track leading down to the cottage is very uneven and bumpy, please go very slowly or you may damage your car. On a plus side the views are beautiful and the farmer and the chickens are very friendly. Lots of nice walks near by."

"This is the best cottage we have stayed in. Inside it is spacious and cosy and very clean and comfortable. The Bedding was immaculate and the location is beautiful. If you like star gazing it is the ideal location for you, as it gets very dark at night and you can see everything in the nights sky. If you have dogs and you like long walks there are plenty of walks for you to enjoy. The only negative point I would mention is the chickens that are literally everywhere. While I love the countryside and seeing chickens that are free to roam around on their own, they were a bit of a nuisance. We spent the whole 2 weeks trying to stop our dog from going for them as they kept coming in the garden. I have not reflected this in the scores as this is not the fault of the owners and it really is a beautiful place. Just be aware that it’s situated on a working farm so if your dog likes to chase livestock or is not impeccably behaved then it could be an issue. Overall though it’s a 10 from us. We are already planning on returning very soon."

"The cottage is wonderful very rural with lovely views across the valley very quiet and at night very dark which if you live in a town is rare. Inside is comfortable but do bring slippers as the stone kitchen floor in bare or stocking feet isn't too good. We over packed as there is so much provided by the owners or by renters like sugar tea all you need for washing up cleaning etc. The chickens are friendly and even see a couple of pheasants, the only person you see is the farmer feeding the chickens. The cottage is warm and comfortable when the fires are lit its so homely. We were there during storm Ali so decided to play board games in the kitchen with the fire on it was very relaxing and watching the storm outside even the chickens hit in the barn or by the wall.Just a warning make sure you have all your shopping or its another 5 miles back to the shops. The WiFi seemed pretty useless but if you have mobile data you get a good signal in the cottage. The biggest downside is that at the end of the holiday you have to leave."
