"The apartment is a bit 'tired' regarding the decore and could do with updating, although the furniture was generally satisfactory. The location was great, especially with having the large sitting room windows to enjoy the view. The family enjoyed the swimming pool.Whilst we could appreciate why towels were probably not provided and were happy to bring our own, we were disappointed at the lack of basics eg general cleaning material in the kitchen, toilet rolls and soap in the bathrooms, bucket and mop (for the kitchen floor - we had a spillage). The lack of drying facilities for laundry and towels was particularly annoying, the clothes airer (which was broken) was inadequate for drying clothes and towels. The car parking also needs some attention to avoid disputes. there was no indication where to park for each appartment.A particular issue is why was there an obligatory charge? This should have been included in the price, whatever it was for.For the adverse matters discribed above, we would be reluctant to recommend the appartment until these issues are dealt with. Otherwise it would be very good, particularly as it is in such a great location and has magnificent views"

"Bungalow surrounded by a drive full of tall weeds, plus dirty windows and frames, and garden furniture covered with green mould. The lawn was just uncared for overgrown grass. Inside no light bulbs in twin bedroom. I had to ask for some bed pillows and was given two thin small pillows , old and not fit for purpose. There was no dressing table or flat surface to put ones make up or other bits and pieces on. In the en-suite there was no towel rail, toilet paper holder and nowhere to put your toilet things. no shaver point for razers or an electric toothbrush. There was no chair to put your clothes on. The bathroom was no better and we had to share the one and only sink plug. We were very disappointed by the bungalow ,and the golf club we were told we could use, was now closed for good. the owner offered us two free meals in his hotel but the first meal was so awful that we never went back. All in all a dreadful holiday let ,but the surrounding countryside is wonderful.Definately not worth the money I paid."

"Beautiful larger than anticipated cottage fully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The home was spotlessly clean and all decor and furnishings are quality. This is the 3rd cottage we have stayed in Northumberland and this was by far the best. Met the owner Angela who kindly left us home baked flapjack and milk. She also advised what activities were on offer during our stay in the local area. Although the weather wasn't kind to us during our holiday, we made the most of exploring the coastline. We enjoyed the walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle (stopping in the Jolly Fisherman for a well deserved glass of something cold afterwards). Amble itself is a lovely fishing village and habour, which seems to offer more each time we visit. Would recommend Radcliffes Cafe Bar for delicious German themed food, The Sand Bar for the most amazing breakfast and Cock and Bull Micro Bar for local real ales and gins. We will hopefully be back!"

"This cottage was booked for a family holiday for four adults. We have stayed at many holiday cottages up and down the country and I have to say this was one of the most comfortable cottages we have encountered. Number 8 has large spacious rooms, is beautifully decorated throughout and is extremely well equipped. It is situated in the perfect spot to make the most of all that Northumbria has to offer. In fact we visited Cragside House, Warkworth Castle, Alnwick Castle, Alnmouth, Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and Beamish museum all of which were between five minutes and an hour (at most) away. We can highly recommend the Wellwood Arms and Queen's Plaice fish and chip shop in Amble, which are both five minutes walk away. The Masons Arms in Warkworth is also worth a visit. We will definitely be back!!"

"Its actually an apartment rather than a cottage. On arrival, we found that the freezer compartment of the fridge was a solid mass of ice - my wife spent a whole evening removing the ice with the aid of a hair dryer. The fridge was clean, however. The grill pan in the oven had a layer of congealed fish oil, I spent half an hour cleaning the pan and the oven but it still reeked of fish. I also had to spend 15 minutes cleaning the toaster. Otherwise the overall cleanliness was fair but could have been better. The mattress of the double bed had a noticeable sag on one side, but otherwise was comfortable. The location is superb, only a few minutes walk from the beach and coastal path and the scenery is wonderful. I recommend the area but not that particular holiday apartment."
