About this property

Located opposite the pretty village green within 150 metres of an independent pub/restaurant, the general store, and post office. Nearby, the bustling town of Wooler, known as the ‘Gateway to the Cheviots’ (4.8 miles) has a range of shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants, as well as the new Northumberland Anglo-Saxon Museum and English whiskey distillery (from Spring 2023). Head into the National Park for a myriad of cycling and walking routes, wildlife, and stunning scenery. Walk to the top of Humbleton Hill (6.6 miles) for superb views of the Cheviot Hills and explore the medieval royal archaeological site of Ad Gefrin near twin-peaked Yeavering Bell. Visit glorious Bamburgh Castle, its beach, popular village amenities, and golf course (10.7 miles). Cross the causeway to explore Holy Island and Lindisfarne Priory, picnic on the many sandy beaches along the coastline, visiting Seahouses (14 miles), Beadnell Bay (16 miles), and Low Newton-by-the-Sea (16.3 miles).

Eight stone steps lead to the front door of this traditional, stone-built semi-detached cottage with an elevated view over the village green and nearby hills. Hang up your coats and head into the warm and welcoming lounge/diner which overlooks the front garden. There are two comfortable sofas to relax on after your days’ out exploring. Light the wood burner in the inglenook fireplace and unwind with a coffee and book or enjoy a movie night on the Smart TV. There is a dining table and seating for six if you are entertaining. The stylish kitchen has everything you will need to make a variety of meals and drinks and there are a couple of bar stools at the kitchen island. The fully tiled contemporary bathroom is on the ground floor with a shower over bath and WC. The two light and airy bedrooms are upstairs, each with plenty of storage space. There is a cosy double bedroom with dual aspect windows and an attractive twin bedroom.

Outside, to the front, there is a bench seat overlooking the front garden where you can sit with your morning coffee and listen to the birds. At the rear, there is a small patio area with a bistro-style table and seating for al fresco dining. At the end of the shared driveway, double doors lead into a long bike and storage room where you will also find the tumble dryer.

Lime Tree Cottage is absolutely lovely. It is very comfortable, well equipped and located in a very pretty village within easy access of both the coastal and the inland walks and spectacular views.

The cottage is small but easily big enough for four people. It is situated in the most wonderful countryside for walking and sight seeing. There is so much to see and visit in the area although we were inhibited by the weather as Storm Babet hit during our stay. The cottage had everything we needed, we couldn't really ask for more. It was very warm, the heating was easy to operate, the bedrooms were small but enough for two people in each. The kitchen was well equip with everything you need. Difficult for fault, as very cozy lovely cottage.

This cosy little cottage is ideal for anyone wanting to get away from busy life and surround themselves with beautiful countryside. The drive to beaches and sights was always near enough for us as we appreciated being away from the busier areas. Beautifully quiet at night and lovely country air too.
