"We had a lovely week. The location was great, the parking for a medium sized car was tight, but useful. With other free parking close by. Comfy bedrooms, thoughtful games and leaflets. Great contact with the owners, all was good enough for us to be happy to return. But there are 2 small negatives I feel important to mention: I know the steepness of the stairs is mentioned in the listing, but even though I took care, I did nearly fall down them twice during the week. They are worst for coming down, as slope downwards; inwards on some steps, and are narrow. So those making bookings should take care. Also, what looks like a proper oven in the photographs is actually a microwave oven, which I believe is a bit misleading. We only had 2 rings, would not have wanted to fry everything anyway due to wanting a healthier alternative to pub meals and takeaways - as well as cheaper. But using it, even though technically you can grill and "oven cook" things takes MUCH longer, is not possible to have anything brown or crispy. Difficult when you'd arranged for a Tesco shopping delivery on arrival day! But we made it work as best we could."

"A great base to explore the northern coast of Northumberland as was just off A1 but in a quiet village location. The cottage was ideal for us to take our aging parents as it had two double downstairs bedrooms (as well as a double for us upstairs) and an extra shower room downstairs. The extra sitting room upstairs was lovely too. Being a stone cottage it was a little cool when we came in as it was a cool week but we put on the radiators so we were fine. Oven and washing machine worked well and we were left a welcome pack of tea , coffee milk, wine, biscuits and twiglets as well as washing up liquid and a few dishwasher tablets. We were prepared as we knew we were in a rural location with the nearest shop being on the A1 services- hence the low score for local amenites. However, as a rural quiet base for exploring with a car it is ideal. We were delighted with our choice - a traditional feel with modern facilities in an excellent location Parking was great for the two cars."

"Excellent cottage owned by the lovely Michelle (we didn’t meet Robin). Spotlessly clean, everything worked as it should, soft towels and the best welcome basket ever. Not that we cooked (unless you count a baked potato one evening) but there were plenty of utensils, a very good oven with instructions, and sharp knives should you wish to stay in and cook. Cottage also had the most comfortable seating that we have ever encountered in a holiday cottage. Sitting relaxing in a recliner with feet up was bliss after a long day out and just like being at home but with no stress. Comfortable seating in conservatory also. Dining table in conservatory and it was chilly a couple of mornings but we put fan heater on for a few minutes each time which resolved problem. Ate out in the evenings in Corbridge or Hexham as no pub we liked the look of in close proximity to cottage, but no problem as easy drive to both. All in all a super cottage we would return to."

"Beautiful larger than anticipated cottage fully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The home was spotlessly clean and all decor and furnishings are quality. This is the 3rd cottage we have stayed in Northumberland and this was by far the best. Met the owner Angela who kindly left us home baked flapjack and milk. She also advised what activities were on offer during our stay in the local area. Although the weather wasn't kind to us during our holiday, we made the most of exploring the coastline. We enjoyed the walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle (stopping in the Jolly Fisherman for a well deserved glass of something cold afterwards). Amble itself is a lovely fishing village and habour, which seems to offer more each time we visit. Would recommend Radcliffes Cafe Bar for delicious German themed food, The Sand Bar for the most amazing breakfast and Cock and Bull Micro Bar for local real ales and gins. We will hopefully be back!"

"We were very dissapointed to find that this was a basement flat and that there was no sea view. Perhaps we had misread the property description. You have to go up the front outside stairs to see all the views. ( The vegetation is covering the handrail ) Entrance to and from the property is via the back entrance which is not in Wellington Terrace. We were rather worried about the amount of glass tables and they are not exactly child friendly. Pehaps that is why you have to pay a cash deposit towards damages, which we did get back. The flat appears clean but on closer inspection it feels as though it could do with a deep clean once in a while. Lots of cobwebs. There is a good supply of utensils and equipment. However, the dials on the cooker are no longer visible and you have to guess the oven temperature. The main rooms and hall are spacious. A quiet and pleasant place to stay."
