"A beautiful house with many lovely features was clean , spacious and comfortable. A few little niggles a shortage of coat hangers,no locks on bathroom doors, a shower that leaked all over the floor but none of these were deal breakers.Outside however is a different story We were blessed with good weather and looked forward to spending time outdoors On arrival we discovered the property had no outside table when we pointed this out we were provided with what looked like a decorators pasting table it looked ridiculous and was totally unacceptable we were told they would hopefully return the next day with something more suitable, unfortunately this did not happenS88238 advertises a gas barbecue, the barbecue supplied was for charcoal and the grill completely rusty, probably a health hazard and therefore we had to purchase a small portable one from Morrisons The lawn was maintained but all the flower beds were untidy and full of weeds , the yard at the rear in need of a good sweep. All the outside waste bins were full and overflowing on arrival, no collection was made during our stay so our rubbish could not be placed in the bins and became smelly in the heat! The garden is impossible to secure and therefore our children and dog needed constant supervision Finally the A59!The house is so close to this busy road, the noise is horrendous and persistent making conversation in the garden practically impossible and sleep with the windows open on warm evenings unlikely!!A lovely house in the wrong location 🙁"

"we booked for a 4 night new year break arriving 30th December at 230pm , we returned home the following morning at 930am on 31st December . The cottage was very cold despite heating on . The bedroom was to small for the size of bed and my husband burnt his leg getting out of the bed to go the bathroom as there was a tiny space between wall and bed. . The bathroom was uncomfortably small. there was no heating in the hall or on landing meaning everytime u came up or down stairs or was freezing and u had to keep living room door closed. It was advertised as having freeview tv and wifi we couldnt get either and were told on return home its due to area but this wasant stated in the write up .have stated in numerous 1 bed cottages/barn conversions lodges and static caravans and never had any problems with size or heating. In the guest book there were several reviews mentioning heating insufficient for the cottage . there are nicer accomodations to visit and spend your monedy on I wouldn't recommend this cottage to couples."

"Pros:Hamper excellent! Bed large and comfy!Spotlessly clean and well decorated.Library of book, guides and DVD a good idea.Kitchen very well laid out.Cons:TV/DVD player a hassle to navigate.Could do with a couple of trays so you could eat a meal in front of the log burner.Shower cubicle very awkward under the coombed ceiling, and almost impossible to use if you are over 6 feet tall. Bathroom dark and cramped with small sink - but understandably so in such a small terrace.Parking was a bit of a lottery - we spent the weekend with a very large white van just outside the front window.Could do with a better way to recycle your waste.A surprisingly noisy street and quite busy at times during the day, with a number of cars playing their sound systems at maximum volume whilst passing. This happens only very rarely in our village in Devon, which is almost the same size as Eyam.We were out every day so we didn't notice it too much, but living in that cottage for any length of time would get on your nerves because it was so dark."

"Lodge itself is lovely and well appointed. The location however is something that isn't great, no signage to show where lodges were, the road that should have a 5mph speed limit was not adhered to by one farm vehicle or any vehicle visiting doggy day care and you can't move about the farm due to health and safety restrictions. If you have little ones be careful getting in and out of the car as it's open to the busy road, and main bedroom looks onto the cattery. Now to the good bit inside very new and modern, lovely kitchen appliances but no washing up liquid or things to wash up with. If a group are staying best you know each other really well as bathroom nearly in living room. Outside a lovely decked area with table and chairs and a wooded garden but not totally safe for little dogs due to fence as they can escape. With all the land on the farm if they relocated it it would be more private and quieter."

"Absolutely loved staying at S79369 for a week. The cottage was the perfect size for both me & my wife, our 8 month old daughter & our dog. The village is lovely, walking distance to multiple cafe's, shops & pubs. The cottage was presented beautifully, even with fresh bread & wine supplied for us! Absolutely immaculately clean throughout. The only negatives; there is no dedicated car parking, however it was never an issue. The village is small & parking the car was no effort at all, there was always various spaces available close-by. Next door neighbour even let me use his driveway for a short time while we packed up! It must also be noted there is no garden or courtyard to let the dog out during the night. However, there is a bit of grass very close to the property which is perfect for this. It was no bother. We'd stay at S79369 again in a heartbeat, loved it. Highly recommended."
