"First of all it's not a cottage it's an extension to a pub which you could hear noise from when open , it's also part of a caravan site so no privacy at all The overall impression was it was a budget place to stay , fixtures and fittings were adequate but on the cheaper side e.g. No drawers in the kitchen, knives and forks in a tray in bottom of a cupboard under sink, no atmosphere, just two rooms stuck on a pub. It did not help when the shower broke down and owner said we could use the campsite shower block until it was fixed . To their credit electrician came next day . The roof in the bedroom leaks when the owner of the pub gets showered also . We only booked this place as we were let down on another booking so it was all that was left in the area we wanted to go to at New Years We put it down to experience and moved on . It didn't spoil our holiday but it didn't do anything to improve it either"

"Great place for getting out with the dogs. It was useful to have a rear entrance so the dogs could get into the kitchen when they came home without having to go all through the house before getting dried off. The cottage is really peaceful, even though there are people in adjacent cottages, and the rear garden is very private. Within easy reach of the coast and Alnwick is close if you need to shop, as there is a large Sainsbury's just off the A1. There is also a convenience store at Shilbottle. Lots to see and do round about, though sorry that Howick Hall, home of Early Grey, does not allow dogs. Druridge Bay is great for dogs and enjoying the coast, but get there early as it tends to fill up. Travelling was easy, as it is not far off the A1. We would definitely stat here again."

"We had a great week here over the new year. The cottage was warm and comfortable and the Railway inn next door was warm and friendly too, with a good choice of drinks and food. The owners were very helpful and friendly especially Helen. The location is very good only 3 miles from the lovely village of Warkworth, and the fabulous Druridge Bay country park.We had a good new years eve in the Railway with great entertainment from a local singer who sang almost non stop from eight to well gone midnight. The only negative point was the food that we were served which was very disappointing for the £20 a head price!.We enjoyed our stay overall and would recommend a holiday in any of the available cottages belonging to the Railway Inn."

"Easy to check in and pick up the key from the pub next door. Cottage geared up for dog owners, which we're not - eg laminated floors, leatherette sofa, dog biscuits and walkies info in hall - but that was OK. Quite a bit of evidence of damp in the walls and ceilings, but decor geberally good, and more than adequately furnished and equipped. Washing machine a good addition. Not really a cosy cottage for the winter months but it worked for us as we were out from early till late-ish, being very fortunate with the weather. Very comfy bed and lovely dark bedroom as there are no windows in it. Not massively private for when leaving and arriving back, being by the pub and campsite, but that was OK too. We had a good holiday."
