"Nicely decorated with lovely welcoming touches, but we had a few problems (and injuries) whilst staying here.Tea, coffee, bread, cake and eggs! Great welcome. Cute little dog bed and bowls (too small for our boy, but lovely all the same. Lots of towels (although nowhere to but them once wet, so stayed damp thoughout out stay.Power fluctuations made wifi a bit hit and miss, but there was a good selection of DVDs to use.The double bedroom has the sloping ceiling right over the sleeping area, and despight being only 5'2" I banged my head and injured over my eye. The hood over the oven is also low and my other half cut his head. We had problems parking outside the house, as the corner spots are very tight and once other people were parked, there wasn't room for us, so we parked on the scrub ground just round the corner. Haverigg itself has lots of mud flats and beach to walk on, so great for dogs, but there wasn't a hose or fenced in area at the house to wash down the dog or let him out for a tinkle. Unfornately the local pubs don't allow dogs. There is a small shop and chip shop, but the limited opening hours means its quick run into Millom to get a few bits and bobs or meal out."

"This is without doubt the best accommodation I have stayed at in the Lake District by some distance as well. The accommodation was spotlessly clean warm and cosy, everything you could possibly need was catered for down to some very nice touches, such as some milk in the fridge and cleaning and washing facilities provided for.The area was beautiful, absolutely stunning scenery and only short walk away down to Wastwater lake itself. The location of the accommodation was within easy travelling distance should you want to travel further afield to explore different parts of the Lakes and beyond.Quite simply a wonderful relaxing and very enjoyable week in the Lakes made all the more pleasurable because of the quality of the accommodation, the weather was even good for the most part as well.I returned home very happy with my batteries full recharged.I will certainly book this accommodation again when I am on holidays in the Lake District."

"A lovely first floor apartment, located about a 5 minute walk away from Wastwater. You need to phone the owner for key collection instructions a few days before your holiday. This was very straightforward and the owner is very helpful. The cottage was clean & comfortable, with good parking, excellent wifi, and in a great position to begin a number of walks directly from the door. Unless you plan to eat out at the pubs within driving distance, it’s best to bring all your food with you, but you can pick up provisions in Gosforth 6 miles away if necessary. The small shop on the NT campsite at Wasdale Head (3 miles away) also stocks basic provisions. Great walks up Scafell Pike, Yewbarrow, Whin Rigg, Illgill Head, S24587 and Seatallan, plus walks in the local woodland and on both sides of Wast Water kept us busy all week. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would definitely return."

"The flat is in a great position for walkers, some of England's highest peaks are within walking distance (but a car to the dale head will knock 5 miles off the day). The cottage was very clean and sofas and beds comfortable. Bedding/towels of good quality. Bottled water (it was a very hot week) and starter tea/coffee/milk on arrival. Owner very willing to help when contacted. The kitchen area is smallish but very neat and ample. A freezer would be a benefit but space is limited in the fitted kitchen. The lake is a 1/2 mile walk, and pleasant to wander to after tea with a bottle (+insect repelant!) as the screes take the evening light. Shops and pubs etc are a fair car drive away, but do try the Gosforth bakery."

"The house could do with a thorough clean. On the face of it it looks clean, but it could do with furniture moving and vacuuming thoroughly and the kitchen given a good clean, the cupboard fronts were a bit greasy and dirty. The heating thermostat was not user friendly. I would replace it with a dial where you can turn the heating down or off. I am a woman of a certain age and found it awfully hot and had to turn radiators off, however as the thermostat was stuck on 21 degrees the boiler kept going trying to get the room up to 21. A terrible waste of gas. We have stopped as this property for many years snd the bathroom light switch is still in need of replacing. Having said all this we do love our stays."
