About this property

Perched in the delightful rural village of Lazonby, Cumbria, is this charming mid-terrace cottage, 3 Eden View. Enjoying a prime location set between the North Pennines AONB and the Lake District National Park, 3 Eden View is a wonderful pet-friendly choice for couples or a family of four. Be welcomed into the inviting living/dining room, complete with a plush sofa, TV and a woodburning stove, perfect for relaxing evenings with loved ones, along with a dining table for four where you can enjoy long, lazy dinners over a celebratory bottle of fizz. Continue through to the well-equipped kitchen, where you can rustle up your best home-cooked meals, which can also be savoured out in the rear garden as you soak up the last of the day’s sunshine. Follow the stairs up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day amongst the bubbles in the beautiful p-shaped bath, before retiring to a tastefully decorated double room or a fun single room to catch your rest. Explore the village, where you can treat your loved ones to a meal out at the Midland Hotel, stock-up on essentials at the supermarket, enjoy leisurely strolls along the River Eden, or take a dip in the Lazonby & District Swimming Pool. Next stop is Pooley Bridge, home to Granny Dowbekins Tearooms, a café, sailing school, bookshop, a boat hire service and a watersports centre, so there are plenty of opportunities to get out on the water! Further afield is Penrith, where you can tour the Penrith and Eden Museum, visit the fascinating Penrith Castle, hike up the Beacon Hill which offers breath-taking views, enjoy wildlife rich walks through Thacka Nature Reserve, test out your swing at the excellent golf club, or visit the nearby Brougham Castle and Mayburgh Henge. There is so much to see and do with a stay at 3 Eden View.

Lazonby, a picturesque rural community, sits on the border between the Eden Valley and the North Pennines, both designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Canoeing, trout and salmon fishing, as well as climbing, walking, and cycling, are all popular activities in this area, which is known for its location on the River Eden. You should definitely check out the Eden Gorge, which is located between Lazonby and Armathwaite and is one of Cumbria's best hidden secrets. With a store, a post office, two bars, and a church, Lazonby is well-equipped for its residents. Additionally, there is an open-air pool that is heated during the winter months. The Settle-Carlisle Railway station is a beautiful stop along the route. Croglin Toys & Designs, housed in a former school dating back to the early 18th century, is a family-run business that specialises in custom-made wooden toys and home accents like wooden bunting. The cutting-edge Rheged Centre in Penrith, with its exhibits, giant 3D screen, shops, play area, and spa, is conveniently located near the settlement. Both Hadrian's Wall and the historic site of Long Meg and Her Daughters are within easy driving distance. Beautiful lakeside settings may be found in close proximity to you in Ullswater, Keswick, and Pooley Bridge. The village's location makes it an ideal base from which to explore the Lakes District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.

The cottage is gorgeous and homely inside with a large garden area to the rear of the property which was ideal for our dog. There is a pub and a well equipped shop nearby and two other pubs around 20 minutes walk away. We had great communication from the owners who were always available if there was anything we needed. A lovely cottage. Would definitely stay again.
