Visit Lacy s Caves, just 8 miles away, or enjoy a lovely walk following a loop to Long Meg and her daughters a huge Neolithic stone circle, along the River Eden and past the village of Little Salkeld. The Rheged Centre, which sits in England s largest grass covered building, is just 12 miles away; enjoy one the exhibitions, a movie or take part in one of the creative classes on offer. From the neighbouring village of Melmerby (1.5 miles), take to two wheels and tackle the Hartside Pass, or wander the Eden Valley after stocking up on treats from the local bakery; there are some great cycle routes straight from your front door.
