Cottage was OK.
However if you want a shower you have to go from your bedroom down two flights of stairs into the basement. Its damp and fusty in the basement and there is a dehumidifier working overload. The shower and toilet room is rather cramped. Kitchen was nice enough and had everything you need. 'The living room is alright but nothing reclines but that's fine if you want to sit bolt upright after a long day on the fells. Advertised is a wi game - it doesn't work so why advertise it. The TV is old so your not going to have much variety on what you watch. Parking can be a bit tricky and you might find yourselves walking a long way from whichever street you can find to park on. The upstairs bathroom had a faulty toilet cistern - there was an instruction note to advise us it was faulty placed on top of the cistern telling us we need to position the flush handle just so after flushing - otherwise the cistern would constantly be filling and discharging via the overflow all night. We manged this fine, but the real disappointment was the fact that the owner then put a claim in after we left to replace the their faulty/damaged toilet !!!! They said we had damaged it. Furthermore, Sykes cottages endorsed their claim £200!!! We have used sykes cottages before. Never again - check out their reviews its alarming. Sykes cottages work on a basis of don't call us you'll never get through to us.

Marsh Villa is exceptional in every way!
We could easily live here permanently! The attention to detail in every aspect was spot on & the place was immaculately clean when we arrived. So well equipped that we didn't need to bring a lot of the things we brought with us. Welcome pack & products etc included: eggs, bread, small milk, range of tea/coffee/hot chocolate sachets, biscuits, dishwasher tablets for the week, washing up liquid, sponge, cleaning products, mop, Hoover, iron & board, fire making materials, tea towels, oven gloves, handwash at all sinks, loo roll, kitchen roll, mini toiletries, salt & pepper, scrabble, playing cards, dog crate, bedding & towels. The only thing that isn't available is a hair dryer - so you need to bring your own. The only very minor negative is that the bedroom curtains are not blackout curtains. Amazing walks from the doorstep & ideally located to walk or drive into Silloth- which we found to be well looked after & the people were really friendly. Silloth West beach is better for dog walking than Skinburness beach, however our dogs enjoyed both. We also enjoyed the beach at Allonby, a visit to Maryport (25 mins) & also to Derwent Water (about 50 min drive). We will definitely be recommending Marsh Villa to our friends & family. We would definitely return.

The cottage was in a great location and very clean throughout.
We welcomed the message from the owners to say we could access the property earlier than 4pm. The owners had also kindly left a bottle of wine and essentials for our arrival. Accommodation - I donât think the pictures truly reflect the property as they make it seem a little bigger. If you have mobility issues you would struggle with this cottage as the stairs were steep and see comments below. Kitchen - nice and as reflected in the pictures. Living room - comfortable and cosy room Upstairs the rooms felt quite small and the furniture not well placed. You have to squeeze past furniture to get to mirrors etc, past hot radiator to get to the other side of the double bed so it all very tight. The bathroom was lovely but we would have preferred the shower to be in here, instead the shower was a tiny cubicle in the basement that would not work for tall people. Garden - furniture was different to photos and is now a rattan suite but was covered in bird mess. Would be nice for this area to have some plant pots to soften it. Despite this we enjoyed our stay. With a few adjustments the cottage could be fantastic.

Low Garth is an extensive cottage in a quiet setting with plenty of room for a family of four, or visitors with dogs.
Access was via a short track with plenty of room for parking a short distance from the cottage. Although the cottage is adjoining the owners property they had a separate access and garden area so privacy was not a problem. We enjoyed our stay using the cottage as a base to explore the northern area of the Lake District for walks or visits to the many attractions nearby. The cottage is spacious and well fitted out with a delightful sunroom facing south-east at the back. We had two dogs with us and there was plenty of room to sit out on warm afternoons in the sunroom, planning our next walk, and also use it for a storage area for our walking gear and the towels needed for two dogs! Outside there is a large garden with room to exercise the dogs or sit out if the weather is suitable and also a decking area for relaxing in the sun.

This is such a beautifully clean and characterful cottage.
It appears newly decorated and carpeted in a charming seaside style. The situation is very near a lovely atmospheric coastline, great walks, amazing bird watching and so peaceful and restful. The cottage is very cosy, with a very efficient heating and hot water system. The beds are extremely comfortable with upmarket cotton bed linen. Silloth is just 5 minutes by car and, to our surprise and enjoyment, has a small, modern and pristine amusement arcade, an RNLI station and shop, excellent children's playgrounds and a lovely coastal walk past the 'Big Fella'! We had a really special lunch at the Fairydust Emporium and even the charity shops are excellent!.... everywhere is pristine and super child, dog and granny friendly!
