Nice quiet area very close to the main A65 but traffic not noticeable at all.

Farmers fields directly to the side and rear. Asked at the gym/pool about a day pass and they wanted Â£25 for 2 hours. You can walk into Kirby Lonsdale but there's quite a section on the A65 with no footpath so it's not pleasant. You can however cross the A65 and walk along a public path across a farmers field (with livestock) into Kirby Lonsdale and all around the smaller villages on quiet lanes. Some nice walking maps of the area on the mantle piece. The house had nice quality bedding and towels. Heating system was a bit of a learning curve but we got it to work. Kitchen is getting a little tired but everything worked. Cleaning was very good in some areas but left a little bit to be desired in others.

We wanted to return to this area where we enjoyed a great holiday last year in Melling.

Initial impressions were very positive. However when we came to lock the front door on our first night we found we could not from the inside. The following morning we consulted the information folder for a contact number to report this. The only one provided was for use in the event of fire. We used the Sykes provided number where we encountered a recorded message. Later in the week we were kept awake by the strobing security light, which had provided a problem for a previous visitor. We cut short our visit to seek some sleep. On our way down the M6 we were 'phoned in response to our phone call of the previous Monday. Lark Meadows is a superb cottage, well equipped, clean and comfortable with a lovely outdoor patio area to sit and enjoy the views.

We loved returning from a day out and relaxing together as a family; the cottage has a great supply of games and DVDs, and my daughter loved the sofa upstairs in the "snug", it was the perfect place for reading. We have previously stayed on the Meadows in another cottage so we were familiar with the site, it was wonderful to return to the area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend Lark Meadows as a relaxing base to explore Kirkby Lonsdale town, and enjoy getting out and about around the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, there's so much nearby to see and do. We would definitely book this cottage again!

Lovely house with a very private feel despite there being other houses nearby.

Great views and lots to do in the area. We had a very pleasant week. On a practical note, the dishwasher leaked water all over the floor when we used it (we only used it once because of this). The dvd player was very temperamental so it didn't always recognise dvds but we were able to use our laptop instead. Also the water didn't drain too well in the wet shower room downstairs so I had to dry it so that we didn't all get wet feet when we went to the loo afterwards. A door on the shower might be more practical.

Lovely property although was not detached as we thought on booking.

Set in a complex next to a gym and spa it would have been nice to know in advance that we could use the facilities albeit on an ad hoc basis. Very well equipped, exceptionally clean and peaceful. Well placed for lots of interesting towns and villages we liked Settle and Skipton. The Bank in K.L. is a must.....go there first and learn about the town from earlier generations. A great experience to whet your appetite before a walk around the town. Ruskin's View on a sunny day is not to be missed!
