What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Cartmel To Rent.
Mrs Elvidge - verified booking
"Firstly, the cottage is in a fab location and that and the village is just what my husband and I were hoping for and without doubt our stay there was comfortable and very pleasant. I was very pleased it was so close to the sticky toffee pudding shop, I polished off two in two days! I was pleased to find the place clean throughout. Bedding and towels were clean and of good quality, and the beds were comfy. The kitchen had everything needed for my husband to cook as he normally does and was very happy to try cooking in the range, a nice touch. The decor was lovely and the pretty little nic nacks made it feel homely. I loved the downstairs bathroom! Great bath. The owners communication had been appreciated a lot, a good direction for beginning our holiday and the instructions we had gave us no hiccups. I wanted to convey my appreciation for such a lovely stay in Cartmel, and to the owner especially for returning my precious running shoes that I left behind!"

"Whilst the accommodation is located only 5 mins from the main A590 it is incredibly peaceful and quiet. Its location is brilliant for the South Lakes being only 10 mins from the likes of Grange over Sands and Cartmel and about 20 mins from Bowness and Windermere. So many places to see, walks that can be taken right from the front door and for the more adventurous Scafell Pike was about 1hr 15 mins. Loads of leaflets of things to do at the house as well which was really helpful.Accommodation was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The only tiny thing that could be improved upon would be that there was only 1 washing machine tablet, 2 dishwasher tablets, 1 piece of tin foil etc. When you are away for a week the last thing you want is to have to take things like this with you so a few more would have been helpful.Overall though a great property, great location and would recommend strongly."

"Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the cottage. On arrival we were greeted with some very ugly damp on the hallway walls - it resulted in a terrible first impression. The cottage is located next to a school playground that was noisy and resulted in footballs regularly coming over the wall. There was scaffolding at all windows due to the work taking place next door which spoilt all the best views from the cottage. There was a lot of noise resulting from the renovation/building work being carried out next door. There were locks on the windows without a key so we couldn't open them to get any fresh air. There was brick dust in the bathroom due to some work that had been carried out on the extractor fan. On our last day after some heavy rain the ceiling in the lounge was leaking. I have photographic evidence which I can send to you."

"Upon arrival we were greeted by Kevin who was extremely helpful right from the start with recommendations of dog walking routes, places to go and things to do during our short stay. We stayed in Ryeland lodge which is dog friendly and even had a hose pipe at the back next to the jacuzzi to wash down our muddy dog. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed, less than a mile walk into Cartmel and walking distance to one of the local shops to fulfil our bacon supply needs. We even tried to book an extra night but unfortunaley it was fully booked which was a shame but completely understandable. Overall a very relaxing holiday in a lovely resort. The only minor recommended improvement was that the jacuzzi didn’t have a roof canopy which was quite annoying in the middle of a hail storm. Adam & Hannah"

"We were mostly happy with this cottage apart from the fact that we were only supplied with one dishwasher tablet and when we asked for more (on the second day) as we intended to eat in every night we were only given one extra and the owner said that the cleaner hadn't informed them that they needed more and they'd done the shopping for that week. Again later in the week we asked for another but were told no. We feel that if a property advertises a dishwasher they should provide dishwasher tablets. Wi-fi would be an advantage too. Fitted sheet would not stay on bed as mattress protector made of a slippery material. Welcome pack consisted of tea bags, coffee, sugar and a pint of milk plus newspaper - we were expecting a little bit more."
