"We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Marlott. It is situated with other Greenwood Grange cottages varying in size. This cottage was excellent for children. There were chickens we could visit and eggs available every day. There was also a vegetable patch where we could pick our own veg. Our garden backed onto the house and was shared with four other cottages. It was enclosed with gates and hedges so my daughter was safe running around outside. At the front there was a fenced off pond with a fountain and more space to run around. There was also a large outdoor play area with trampoline, slide, swings etc, as well as a play tent which had loads of toddler toys inside. The swings are only suitable for older children. There was also a laundry room with more toys to borrow as well as DVDs and books. The location was excellent for getting to all areas of Dorset and Dorchester is just a quick drive away, where there were numerous supermarkets. There is a lovely childrens farm at the college just down the road which is well worth a visit. We cycled there very easily. We will definitely be returning to this cottage or another of the Greenwood Grange cottages in the future."

"This cottage was in an idyllic setting, fantastic grounds, beautiful surrounding areas. The kitchen hosted a dishwasher which was an unexpected bonus and was very well equipped with crockery, cutlery, pans and other cooking and baking utensils. Where it let itself down was on the cleanliness of the downstairs living area, hallway and kitchen (upstairs fine) it totally stunk of dog, and for a property that says no pets this surprised us. The floors were totally filthy and left our socks black. We spent the first few hours hoovering and mopping the downstairs floors to make it more habitable and get rid of the smell. Maybe for people who have dogs this may not have been an issue but it was for us, especially with 2 x 15 month old infants playing on the floor. On the up side we managed to get the pool upto a toasty 27 degrees after finding the isolation switch for the heater and turning it on (the owner only turned the filter on) if it wasn't for the fact we were unhappy with the cleanliness downstairs we would have scored this much higher."

"The property has high quality fixtures and fittings and was very warm and cosy. The bathroom is very compact, but had an excellent shower. The property was in a peaceful location with walking from the door. However, the property is not comfortable as there is nowhere to sit, except on dining room chairs. To watch TV you need to sit on the bed. My husband and I are both very small build, but we had trouble getting up the side of the bed. There is no storage space except by lifting up the bottom half of the bed, which was very heavy, we ended up storing cases and boots in the car. There is no wardrobe or chest of drawers and the hanging rail was on the wall by the bed and unusable because it blocked the route into bed. The owners really need to look at how they could improve this property. I would redo the whole property with fewer base kitchen units and more wall units to create space for a small settee and move the TV into the lounge."

"I've stayed at several cottages before but this one was a wow and that was the expression myself and my friends used when we went through the complex and into the spotless cottage. All the wherewithal for a welcome cup of tea or coffee was available in the kitchen. The electricity was provided free of charge as were the laundry facilities and what's more we helped ourselves on several occasions throughout the week to vegetables from a plot nearby which again were provided without additional charge. Would the four of us like to go to the cottage again? Yes please. In any direction and within very easy reach are interesting places to visit. Well done Greenwood."

"This was a lovely house set in a beautiful location, however it was not very clean. On arrival there were hairs in all the basins and the bath. Although it is a pet free house there were dog hairs in the kitchen and utility room. The kitchen needed a thorough clean, dead flies and cobwebs on the window cills. The towels were all quite badly stained and worn out. The showers were very old with virtually no water pressure. They were either cold or red hot, and unsafe for young children to use.We expected a much better standard for the price. We loved the surrounding area and will definitely visit again but we wouldn't stay there again."
