"We loved the house! There was so much space and we rarely used the lounge - we were blessed by good weather the whole week. The swimming pool was fantastic and the focus of relaxation and fun. Whilst the pool was shared with another family this was never a problem. The shared garden is subtly separated which worked well for us but could prove difficult for those with young children or unsocial dogs - both us and the other family had a dog and they loved playing together and used the full range of garden. This may have been tricky if either party wanted to keep their dog separate or didn't Iike dogs as the gardens are not separated by a fence. The house is charming in its own right and situated in a lovely friendly village. I got up most days to walk the dog and everyday walked different routes through fields or quiet roads. The local pub was great and the home made pear cider very popular with the group. Lots of free range eggs available from people's homes. Also worth noting, that whilst all 8 rooms have ensuiyes which is impressive, all but one of the doubles had a bath with hand held shower attachment, rather than a shower. It was fine for us as we had a spare twin room and we used that walk in shower but may not suit all groups. There is a local vineyard with wine tasting tours and lots to do locally. The owners live close by and greeted us, but we're not invasive. Any questions about the house were quickly answered. We had to book in July for special family birthday and so paid premium rate but would go again earlier in the year in the future."

"We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Marlott. It is situated with other Greenwood Grange cottages varying in size. This cottage was excellent for children. There were chickens we could visit and eggs available every day. There was also a vegetable patch where we could pick our own veg. Our garden backed onto the house and was shared with four other cottages. It was enclosed with gates and hedges so my daughter was safe running around outside. At the front there was a fenced off pond with a fountain and more space to run around. There was also a large outdoor play area with trampoline, slide, swings etc, as well as a play tent which had loads of toddler toys inside. The swings are only suitable for older children. There was also a laundry room with more toys to borrow as well as DVDs and books. The location was excellent for getting to all areas of Dorset and Dorchester is just a quick drive away, where there were numerous supermarkets. There is a lovely childrens farm at the college just down the road which is well worth a visit. We cycled there very easily. We will definitely be returning to this cottage or another of the Greenwood Grange cottages in the future."

"This cottage was in an idyllic setting, fantastic grounds, beautiful surrounding areas. The kitchen hosted a dishwasher which was an unexpected bonus and was very well equipped with crockery, cutlery, pans and other cooking and baking utensils. Where it let itself down was on the cleanliness of the downstairs living area, hallway and kitchen (upstairs fine) it totally stunk of dog, and for a property that says no pets this surprised us. The floors were totally filthy and left our socks black. We spent the first few hours hoovering and mopping the downstairs floors to make it more habitable and get rid of the smell. Maybe for people who have dogs this may not have been an issue but it was for us, especially with 2 x 15 month old infants playing on the floor. On the up side we managed to get the pool upto a toasty 27 degrees after finding the isolation switch for the heater and turning it on (the owner only turned the filter on) if it wasn't for the fact we were unhappy with the cleanliness downstairs we would have scored this much higher."

"Good value for money as usual. We have stayed here many times. And will do so again. But felt that there was a slight change in standards, possibly because the owner drivers are no longer continuously present, or possibly because the complex is up for sale. We had to ask for heating especially in bathroom. Bathroom room mirror light did not work. Not that it mattered only some heaters came on. TV gave up on night before last night.Toilet seat cover cracked. We felt rather than knew the cleaning was superficial highly scented possibly with Fabreez. Kitchen floor sticky. But must say when brought to their attention for the most part what we needed was attended to. A little more attention to detail and this is a 10/10 holiday site. Some concerns that the rhododendron area had been hacked, heavy vehicle tracks gouged into earth."

"It’s a lovely group of cottages with terrific amenities as advertised. The pool is great, there’s a super sauna which is only a £1 for about 30 minutes. The games room and washer-dryer areas are superb. Negatives:The rear door of the cottage Ware is inconveniently placed, although it opens up to a beautiful garden with excellent tennis court, the door is adjacent to the connecting neighbouring cottage which means you share the same immediate area to the rear, perhaps not an issue if your neighbours don’t smoke but sadly ours did and were often hanging around the door and window of the living room which doubled as our kids bedroom. I’m not sure what you can do to mitigate against this. We’d happily stay here again but not this cottage I’m afraid; it appears to be the only one with this arrangement by the way."
