What our customers say about their holidays

    • Trai - Verified booking

A lovely location, and a very spacious property with a perfect secure garden for dogs.

The beds were comfortable and we slept well. However, reading through the visitor comment book (which we used to leave comments before we left), it is clear that suggestions which would improve things for guests have not been addressed. The front bedroom would benefit from a blind or net as there is a busy junction directly outside as well as a lot of walkers meaning the curtains were closed throughout our stay. There was no welcome pack...which is the first time there has been no greeting having rented a lot of holiday let's over many years...perhaps a pint of milk might be nice? And perhaps a bottle of wash up liquid? Perhaps a spare bin liner? The enormous spa bath doesn't work....what a waste!...and the bathroom is looking rather tired and unloved. If the owner addressed some of the small niggles as suggested by myself and other guests, I might feel that I hadn't overpaid for my 5 night stay. On arrival, a phrase my Grandmother used to use came to mind and wouldn't shift...'Fur coat, and no knickers'...

The cottage was delightful but I think more attention to detail is required for the price of the property.

The furniture is tired. The settee in the front room has stains on it and although comfortable to sit on I felt a little uncomfortable because of the way the cleanliness made me feel. The bed although comfortable squeaked every time you moved…this needs looking at. The fridge had been cleaned with bleach prior to our arrival so smelt of bleach…fridges shouldn’t be cleaned with bleach. For some reason we couldn’t get the fridge to work…it kept freezing the food. The garden was nice but could be lovely with a bit more attention to detail. And it would have been nice if the garden furniture had been cleaned prior to our arrival. The conservatory was lovely but the skylight needed cleaning. Lots of cobwebs and dead flies. The bathroom had very large cobwebs in it. Overall the place is nice, cosy and peaceful but as said it needs a bit more TLC to make it better. It’s in a lovely location and we would stay again for that reason.

Really lovely cottage which was very clean and looked like it had been recently tastefully decorated.

Fantastic location close to all the lovely restaurants and bars and more widely all the attractions of Christchurch and surrounding area. The only negative comment I’d make is that the bedrooms are set up to sleep 6 however we had 5 of us, our 3 kids are all adult-sized teenagers now and we found it a squash downstairs. There is really only space for 4 people downstairs - 4 round the table and only space for 4 on the sofas- someone had to sit on a plastic garden chair which obviously isn’t very comfy and it was a real tight squeeze, they were sat in the access way through to the kitchen so no one could come and go. It’s difficult to gauge size from the photos on the website. It’s perfect for a group of 4 I’d say.

The property has been recently refurbished.

The walls have been painted. New carpets have been put in upstairs. The bathroom was clean and bright. The beds were very comfortable. The wifi was fast. The kitchen was well-equipped (and had lots of things that not all cottages have, e.g. cling film, foil, salt, pepper, plus plenty of cutlery and utensils). The property overlooks a public car park, so we did hear some noise in the car park on the weekend from people returning late at night to their cars. But this was a minor inconvenience given how well situated the property is for the high street in Christchurch and all of its shops and restaurants. We very much enjoyed our stay and would consider returning if we fancied being in the same part of the country again.

Lovely bungalow in a quiet cul-de-sac near the beach and very close to a good pub and walkable to local amenities.

The welcome pack was much appreciated particularly the treats for the dog. Living area very comfortable although the tv is in a strange location. We liked the extra loose chairs when an alternative to a sofa is preferred. Bedrooms both comfortable and plenty of towels provided. Again the bedroom tv was strangely located not facing the bed. The toilets and bathrooms were very clean and modern. We did have to buy a few tea towels as these were not available and a pint glass or two and some larger mugs wouldn't go amiss. The garden is perfect with attractive raised beds, complete privacy and totally secure for dogs. Overall a fantastic property in a great location.
