"We had a really lovely holiday in Columbo Cottage! Firstly its a lot bigger than it looks in the pics and is a really comfortable space. The living area was more than big enough for three adults and one child (mummy, daddy, son and nanny) The kitchen equipped for 'proper' cooking and the dishwasher came in so handy! I also loved the fact that the washing machine was a dryer also, this meant I didnt have to have washing everywhere or take damp towels down the beach the next day! The bedrooms are basic but has everything you need. The bathroom has been renovated since the pic on the website and is lovely.Location wise there is literally NO shops and is a good walk/small drive to the nearest (which I think is actually in Lyme Regis) but that's ok as this cottage is a much cheaper option than staying on the seafront. There are horses just outside the cottage and its in lush countryside! The walk to Lyme Regis is quite difficult as its on a steep hill and there is NO parking in the seafront in high season ie all the spaces are taken (seriously, I drove down once and went back to the cottage after 30 mins of looking) so I would advise this cottage to people with good mobility. Lyme Regis a AWESOME and there are soooo many things to do within a half hour drive of the cottage. There was a really helpful box of tourism leaflets in the cottage which we looked at every day for ideas.Location wise DO NOT use the directions on the website/email they are awful! The entrance to the cottages if off Charmouth Road, opposite the entrance to the Park and Ride. Look out for a metal farm gate and the entrance to the little road that leads to the cottage is on the left of the gate. There is NO sign on the gate area which seems daft but once you know where it is its fine. There are a few gripes which the owners need to look at- not all the Velux windows upstairs had safety chains which meant I have to move my young son's bed away from the window as they dont lock either. This needs looking at as its a family cottage and the windows open horizontal to the roof. The hot water was a bit of an issue- at one point it ran out one evening even though no one had had a shower or bath. And the shower tap is really hard to control meaning you risk having a scorching shower and not being able to change it at all (even with 10 mins of twiddling it)I have noticed a few gripes from other previous reviews that seem to not have been looked at so I would suggest the owners did a litttle check of the small things on these reviews. But all in all we loved our time there and would def stay again. Not sure why some of the other super negative reviews have been made as its a lovely good value cottage in a FANTASTIC area."

"Our party of 19 (aged between 6 weeks and 70+) enjoyed a lovely family celebration here. The ground floor and outside area were spacious and well-suited our purpose. There were some minor issues with equipment - eg a badly leaking kettle, a broken shower, but these did not affect our enjoyment of the week. The important areas - toilets, showers etc, were clean but some of the living areas could do with a bit of care and attention. We did feel that one towel per person for a week was not enough - probably better to take your own.We did have a problem with dogs from the farm and elsewhere wandering in uninvited - there are no gates to stop them - this often happened at mealtimes as the weather was good and we ate outside quite a bit. There is no mobile signal at all, and the WiFi only worked very spasmodically. Overall we had a good time and would consider going back there for future family gatherings."

"This property is stunning in its appearance and features which exceeded our expectations. There is definitely a wow factor as you first step in to the barn. The rooms are all en-suite and the communal areas are spacious. There is plenty of parking for cars. Underfloor heating downstairs is welcome and the woodburner was very welcome in the evening. The owners lit the woodburner for us twice and provided extra fee logs. There were a few issues with housekeeping which could easily be resolved in order to bring this property up to a 10/10 standard. Some items such as towels and bedding were a bit tired and could do with replacing. The owners were also difficult to reach at times as the property is on a working farm. With these amendments I would recommend this property to families and friends looking for a large, private house for a weekend or a week's holiday."

"Great House For A Get TogetherLarge but cosy; a quirky house with nooks and crannies, and with different staircases to various groups of rooms; a well-equipped kitchen with a huge dining table creating a focal point; a generous lounge with enough sofas for the whole group to snooze.Julia was helpful and attentive, whilst keeping up with her duties on the working farm. The wifi was workable; the mobile reception wasn't - get to know the land line number for the Tithe Barn as an emergency contact. The sixteen of us had a superb time in the house; we spent some time in the local pub, Bridport market, West Bay, and Furleigh Winery was well worth a visit. The Seaside Boarding House was a good recommendation, and a stroll down to the Hive Beach and the Hive Cafe for coffees completed an excellent Sunday lunch. We even had sunshine !"

"It was an ideal setting for a large family gathering, really well equipped, all 16 of us had boiled eggs for one of the breakfasts! The house was very comfortable (including the beds!), with nice, good quality furnishings while also feeling relaxed, spacious but cosy. Two sitting rooms both with fires and ample comfortable sofas were pleasant in the evenings. There was something for everyone; the lads had a table tennis tournament, nearly everyone got in the pool, the garden was secure for the dogs and the playroom in the house was very popular with chess being played by the youngsters. It is also in a beautiful spot, with lovely walks from the door. Despite being close to the main road we could hardly hear a thing due to the thick walls and good glazing. Very much recommended!"
