"Please do not hesitate to book this cottage for your holiday. It was very clean on our arrival, very spacious and we were happy to stay there. The cottage is near to a supermarket and a few minutes further walk to other shops. Try the Millennium Walkway just up the road. If you have small dog then the garden/parking area is not secure, we had to keep our dog on his lead out there as he could have gone through the bottom of the gates. The cottage is on the main road but this did not matter as we were not disturbed by the traffic at all. We were a party of two adults and two children, one a teenager and one nearly a teenager. They loved the fact they had a lounge for themselves. Not clear from the description but the main bedroom has a shower and washbasin, this was a bonus, no toilet but not far to the main bathroom. The wet room downstairs had a toilet and washbasin, this room was large. Thanks to everyone for a great stay. Really recommend this cottage"

"The property itself was lovely, very spacious and in a good location for visiting the surrounding attractions. We did, however, have a few issues during our stay.1. The free view tv box in the sitting room was old, did not work and had exposed wires which could have electrocuted somebody. We replaced it and were told by the owner they would repay us but this has not happened.2. The fifth bedroom had two very small beds (probably only suitable for under 10s), it had no storage facility, very poor mattresses and duvets which were grubby.3. The general cleanliness was sub-standard (stains on cushions and floors, finger prints on tv and windows, fridge not clean etc).4. About 30% of the light bulbs either did not work or were missing.Money should be reinvested to bring the property up to the level expected for the star rating it has and the amount charged to stay in it. It needs a thorough clean."

"This is a very nice house - well decorated and equipped and spotlessly clean. It is comfortable, characterful and easy to live in. The neighbours are nice and friendly and the owner was most helpful and obliging. The only slight drawback is the road that the cottage fronts on to, but it is only really busy during rush hour and the double-glazing cuts out most of the noise. Parking is easy and there is a nice safe courtyard at the back. The location is good, with a supermarket near by and plenty of interesting short (and long) local walks. New Mills isn't the prettiest place, but it is very interesting and historic and well-situated for the Peak District, Cheshire plain and with good transport links into Stockport, Manchester and further afield.I would like to stay again and would recommend it."

"Church end cottage was a good base for exploring the peaks. Generally it was pleasant enough the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for a family visit. The sofas were very uncomfortable and a few things in the property are overdue an update. The freezer in the lounge made a terrible noise which travelled upstairs into the back bedroom had to turn that off. Wifi was good no problems with that or phone signal. We were told that there would be enough wood for a few fires but as many logs that were supplied the kindling unfortunately was only enough for one fire. A very enjoyable holiday."

"We are three families with young children and had a great stay in Ivy House Farm. We found it clean, spacious, warm and well-equipped. The woodland nearby was perfect for short walks and it was lovely for the kids to be able to see horses in the fields and to pick blackberries. The photos don't do the house justice. Its décor won't be to everyone's taste, but it feels fresh and clean and was ideal for our family break."
