What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Adams - Verified booking

This cottage is beautifully presented and the furnishings are lovely. It was spotlessly clean and the bedding and towels smelled amazing. The kitchen is well equipped, we used the coffee machine, oven and microwave and they all worked well. We had plenty of hot water and the shower was great. Very generous welcome pack - which was much appreciated. Our dog felt very relaxed here and now that the front garden area is fenced it made it safe. Owners left towels and poo bags for dogs and throws to put on the sofa if needed so that your dog can join you (ours preferred the floor!!!). There is no parking directly connected to the property but the car park is a few meters away and we had no problems parking- it's very close to the property but not noisy with traffic. Settle is a very pretty town - it's very dog friendly with nice walks in the town and surrounding areas. There are lots of cafes, a great butcher, take aways and a couple of supermarkets. We had good fish and chips from the market Square ( market day on Tuesday) and would also recommend the Thai restaurant (Darlings). I would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing holiday but it's also a great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

An excellent cottage in a lovely location (just over 5 minutes walk away from the railway station if you are coming by train). We had a lovely week at Cragdale Mews which is an ideal base for exploring this part of the Yorkshire Dales. This is a beautifully furnished and comfortable cottage with excellent facilities. The kitchen was well equipped (pots and pans were of very good quality) with everything you would need if you are preparing your own meals, which we did most days. The king size bed was very comfortable and conducive to an excellent nights sleep. The bathroom was clean with a very powerful shower which was easy to control the temperature. There was a nice, large flat screen TV in the lounge area. On arrival there was a bottle of wine, crisps, a packet of shortbread biscuits, tea and coffee waiting for us, which was a nice touch. Overall I can't recommend this cottage highly enough. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Cragdale Mews turned out to be absolutely perfect for the 2 of us plus our 7year old collie ,Fitz. Bed was cosy and comfortable with plenty of space in the bedroom. The shower is one of the best I’ve used. Hot and powerful which I needed after a small stumble outside the bike shop/cafe. No major injuries but the power shower massaged those aching muscles a treat. The living area had just the right amount of comfort. The kitchen was well equipped and the layout was spot on. Perhaps a small lamp upstairs would be a little better than the kitchen lights. But that didn’t really matter. Parking was at the car park opposite. Overnight parking was cheap. And taking fitz out for that late night walk was a doddle around the car park. So much to do in the local area too. We were there primarily to see the Ribblehead viaduct and we weren’t disappointed. Booked again for next year so we can safely say that Cragdale Mees was a big hit with us.

A lovely stay in a well located cottage, the cottage was welcoming and inviting.

Upon arrival, there was some milk, tea and coffee provided which was a nice gesture. The cottage is a great base for walking and a visit to Malham to see the cove and Janet’s Foss. After a 12 mile walk, Dyson House is a great place to come home and relax. There were a few areas which could be improved, the kitchen was lacking some utensils such as small sharp knives for chopping and the oven door was faulty as it struggled to close. The hinge on the left hand side is not secured in properly which caused problems during the stay. Another minor issue, was that in some areas of the home there are damp spots where wallpaper is starting to peel, which is something to watch in the future. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay at Dyson House and would consider this cottage to stay in the future.

We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage in Settle, perfect for two people and our dog. The location is ideal—right in the heart of the village with easy access to shops, cafes, and scenic walks. Although parking is in a nearby public car park, it was just a short walk away and not an issue at all. The cottage itself is well laid out, with a spacious bedroom and bathroom downstairs, and a large open-plan kitchen and living area upstairs. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, which made cooking in really convenient. A great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, and we’d definitely stay here again!
