About this property

An outstanding stone-built, semi-detached former stable block on the rural outskirts of the picturesque village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale in magnificent Three Peaks Country. Beautifully restored with quality fixtures and fittings, this Horton-in-Ribblesdale cottage combines original features with modern comforts to provide first-class accommodation in a peaceful, rural location. This is one of our finest Dales cottages, with character and charm throughout, including the original oak beams, exposed stonework and much more. Set over three floors, the ground floor offers a beautiful kitchen and dining area. Full of immense character and charm, with a lovely window seat, the room has been designed seamlessly round the original stalls, a wonderful and somewhat different feature. The first floor includes the spacious sitting room with feature fireplace with a gas woodburner-effect fire. With feature exposed stonework, the original beehive oven and windows to both sides, one looking out across the church and cemetery and the front looking out towards magnificent views of Pen-Y-Ghent, this is a lovely room to sit back and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of country living. The second floor of this Horton-in-Ribblesdale cottage consists of a spacious master bedroom, a twin and a third room set up as a useful snug with sofa bed to accommodate a fifth guest or as somewhere to relax, have a coffee and read a good book. Outside this Horton-in-Ribblesdale cottage there is a small area to sit, listen to the beck winding its way past, and take in the lovely views. Various walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep of this Horton-in-Ribblesdale cottage, on the Pennine Way and in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, while the more energetic visitor can 'clock in' at the village's Pen-y-Ghent cafe and take on the challenge of the Three Peaks walk! A wonderful Horton-in-Ribblesdale cottage for a much-deserved break in the Yorkshire Dales.

Horton-in-Ribblesdale sits in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and has a lovely Norman church and two pubs. The surrounding countryside is magnificent, offering the ideal location for fell walking, with the famous Three Peaks Walk, Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough offering some of the most challenging walks in the country. The Settle-Carlisle Railway passes through the village and passes some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. The nearby town of Settle offers a wide variety of pubs and restaurants whilst the market square features the Shambles, an historic 3-storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall.

plenty of room with everything we needed. Very spacious and comfortable in a great location! Fantastic hosts, I called to get the sofa bed made up (which I should have done before arriving) but this was no trouble and all sorted within 20mins! We climbed Pen Y Ghent, the stables is at the bottom of the trial. We took short drive into settle for a takeaway and ate at the gold lion the 2nd night after our walk (food was average). We would stay here again

Quiet location but perfectly situated for walking. The milk, flapjacks and prosecco were welcome on arrival.

Extremely clean, comfortable and really enjoyed the little extras. Would recommend and certainly would stay again.
