    Pateley Bridge Holiday Cottages

Pateley Bridge is a quaint town nestled in the Nidderdale area of the Yorkshire Dales. If you fancy a day of retail therapy and brunching, head to the high street - jam-packed with independent shops and tearooms. Some of its quirkiest offerings are half-hidden down small alleyways which sprout off the main high street like vines. Whilst there's plenty to do in the town, truly adventurous visitors should head underground to explore the stalagmites and stalactites of Stump Cross Caverns.

Of course, no trip to Pateley Bridge would be complete without a visit to The Oldest Sweet Shop in the World. This treasure trove of confectionery is housed in a gorgeous seventeenth-century building and has been run by the same family since 1827.

At Snaptrip, we provide our customers with thousands of properties to choose from, backed by our best price guarantee. Narrow your search down using our handy filter option to find the perfect match, whether you're planning your next big family trip or a romantic getaway. What our customers say about their holidays

We had a fantastic week at Cuckoo Cottage.

So cosy and well-equipped. Took us a while to spot the very apt hourly clock function and was a lovely surprise when we did (which I won’t spoil by detailing but people may guess!). Looking at the photos and comments I was concerned about the size of the telly but it was fine. Perfectly visible & worked well. Also I’d seen comments regarding parking but we got parked right next to the cottage every time we returned and when we arrived. Cones seem to have been provided to help with this. The kids loved the games room, enjoying the darts & air hockey table. We loved the Royal Oak which was even closer than we expected and ate there 3 of the 5 nights. Great service & food. A very warm welcome there too. Pateley Bridge had all we needed and more. Nice big playground, chippie, pancake house, a few shops for souvenirs, food etc. petrol station very handy for the last day. We enjoyed trips to Harrogate, Ripon, Coldstone Cut & Brimham Rocks. All worth a visit! Loved the fire. Great bathroom with bath & shower & comfy beds. Very noisy floorboards but as you’d expect in a property of this age. Kitchen was very well equipped. Book exchange & bookmarks were a nice touch. Just a couple of minor niggles: Heating was set very high! I tried to lower it from 24 degrees but it seemed to revert every time a new cycle changed. Didn’t want to fiddle with settings other than temperature & just kept on top of it. The oven was very difficult to figure out since it seems to have non conventional settings (eg no ‘fan oven’) and to compound this many of the symbols have rubbed off. We got round it after a fair bit of googling in conjunction with the instructions provided. Ended up searching up an image of the Smeg dial. Would be useful to include this image with the instructions so people can see which position each setting is on the dial or mark them on the oven itself? Also the velux window in the back bedroom leaked during heavy rain (luckily just onto the floor rather than the nearby bed so more an issue for the owners than us). Thank you for having us, we had a very relaxing & enjoyable stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return.

      What a fantastic property!

It was absolutely immaculate with all the modern features any family could want or need. There is a luxurious feel throughout and an abundance of space to easily accommodate 6-8 people. It is within a 30 minute drive of most of the major tourist areas and the walk into the nearest village Pately Bridge was flat and easy. The owner had left a lovely welcome pack and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree for our early December stay, which was really appreciated. The walks nearby are beautiful and we took some of the more adventurous routes which resulted in some spectacular snowy photograph's. There is one important thing to note, the lane up to the barn is littered with potholes and adds a good 5-10 mins to each journey, so does requires patience. The lane leads to other farms so we assumed it was not just the owners responsibility and with us all being in the festive spirit from the local Christmas markets, it didn't bother us too much. There is a small incline up to the barn which did prove very challenging in the winter weather (it has snowed the night before we arrived), so is another factor to consider if you are traveling to the Barn in poor weather. Overall though a brilliant holiday and we can't recommend Mosscarr Barn enough!

We had a lovely stay with our daughter and granddaughter The cottage was wet equipped however the furniture was a little tired Parking was an issue.

We couldn’t park near the cottage as there was a bmw parked outside the cottage all week. It never moved and ended up parking at the end of the one way street this meant as we took 2 cars one of the cars was rarely used and consequently ended up covered in sticky tree sap The games room was a big hit with our 6 yr old granddaughter We do feel that many cottages say they are dog friendly but when you arrive there are a list of things dogs can’t do ie get on the furniture or go upstairs. This criticism is not only aimed at cuckoo cottage Or dog is allowed on our furniture and sleeps on our bed. It makes any holiday more stressful than it needs to be when you’re trying to keep the dog off the sofa and from going upstairs. She doesn’t understand why she has to stay downstairs when we go to bed Overall the cottage was lovely. The underfloor heating is a nice touch and the bathroom is modern and spacious. The floors upstairs feel a little less well supported and are very noisy and creaky The cottages back seating area though small is a sun trap but could do with a tidy up On the whole we had a lovely time and would recommend the cottage to our none dog owning friends

      Highly recommend!

True 5 star property. Absolutely superb luxurious barn conversion in tranquil rural location, with everything you could wish for. Nicely decorated and well thought out with lots of space for everyone, books, games, dvd’s, jigsaws, netflix and even spare wellies! 15 min walk to closest pub (Bridge Inn) and pleasant 30 min walk into centre of Pateley Bridge for shops, pubs, butcher, baker, ice cream etc.The barn was spotless and well equipped with lots of lovely touches to make you feel welcome. Generous welcome hamper, chocolates on beds, toiletries, guest welcome booklet with maps for local walks and information on shops, food and activities. Recommend the circular walk into Pateley Bridge and back. Good pub food and nice atmosphere at the Crown Inn. Pancake House served up super yummy food and ice cream. If you fancy something a bit more upmarket Olleys Italian Restaurant was fab. The barn is at the end of a long farm track but it is gravel and flat and as long as you drive slowly (10pm) it is absolutely fine. It’s a nice walk along the path to the pub and town.

I really don’t know where to start .

We stayed with our friends so 3 couples & 2 dogs . We did ask if we could bring 3 dogs which the owner did say yes . One of our friends decided to leave their dog at home . We all had a beautiful bedroom & ensuite bathroom & a window with a view . I always take extra things like salt & pepper , foil, bin liners just little things that over the years hasn’t been in accommodation we’ve stayed in. I didn’t need to do this here if I had known they had everything & I mean everything !!! Just take yourselves , food , drink ect . The only thing I would say is the lane ( farm track ) is like a field so no good for sports cars . We was ok with our apart from one car but we didn’t take that car out again until it was home time but just be aware . Maybe one more thing would be to have some nice outdoor furniture for summer months . Just to make it very luxurious but again we didn’t need it the time of year we stayed . We was also lucky enough to meet the owner Mary & she was so lovely & it was nice to hear her story of the Barn renovation & that she was brought up there
