    Holiday cottages in Cayton

If you've never heard of Cayton, chances are you’ve seen photos of it on postcards and in magazines. A truly picturesque seaside village, Cayton Bay is home to a spacious beach surrounded by greenery.

Situated between Scarborough and Filey, Cayton is a lovely, quiet base for visiting the surrounding area. With a population of less than 2,500, this tranquil village offers beach-side walks, foraging for fossils, and saltwater swimming. The bay is also a favourite with surfers –and it’s not uncommon to see lots of people enjoying the sandy beach. There are a couple of beach-side cafes where you can admire the seascape with a warm drink.

Cayton’s beach is dog friendly year-round and it's a great location for families with furry friends. At Snaptrip we offer a wide range of holiday cottages in Cayton with pet-friendly facilities, and luxury for humans such as swimming pools, log fires, or hot tubs. Use the Snaptrip filtered search to find your dream cottage or our friendly customer support team can help.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Darren - Verified booking

The Old School House was a lovely property that catered for our holiday needs.

It was clean, well presented and comfortable. The welcome pack - containing both essentials and treats - was a lovely touch and Michelle was very pleasant, checking we had arrived safely etc. The size of the sitting room was comfortable for three people but I imagine could’ve been a squeeze of four people were staying at the property; there was one small double sofa and a large single (like a 1 1/2 person) armchair. Perfect for small kids but but teens or adults may have struggled somewhat. The location of the property is fantastic in terms of walking distance to most amenities in Scarborough, which was great, although there were a few nights where locals were heard arguing / shouting in the street, late at night. The parking situation is on-street parking but this was not an issue and we seldom didn’t find somewhere one the street to park; the parking tickets issued by the property were welcomed. There seemed to be a log of dog faeces on the pavements surrounding the property; although I appreciate this is nothing to do with the property, it does detract from the overall pleasantness of the property / the locality. Overall a fantastic holiday property, priced about right. Thanks for making our holiday an enjoyable and comfortable one. Many thanks!

Jackie And John have an absolute amazing property.

It has been furnished to a high specification which is gorgeous. Everything is brand new. The kitchen was excellently equipped with everything, included salt pepper, cling film and foil (which some accommodations don’t provide). Children’s cutlery plates bowls and cups provided - another bonus to prevent breakages. To us the little things really help to make a stay homely and comforting. Such as the throws and a little dog basket. The house is in an excellent location to the park and sea front, with great parking on the road outside the house. Use the clock to get 3 hours free parking or the scratch card for all day parking. The beds were very comfortable and lovely fresh clean bedding. Towels again brand new and fluffy. Bathrooms were immaculate and to the top specification. TVs were up to date with apps enabled. Free WIFI bonus! The house was perfect for our stay - not one negative. We will be returning thank you so much x

We were unable to stay at the property, so cannot comment on it.

One of us ended up being hospitalised in that week, and the other was down with Covid. Changing the dates, as offered on the website, meant we would have had to pay over 100% extra on top of the original price. This was regardless of any alternate dates we offered. Hardly an encouragement to try to change the dates or leave us feeling any sense of fairness in play! The phone-call to you about our problem was equally disappointing to say the least, with very little flexibility or understanding. In fact you justified the additional charges by saying a lot of people book cottages in Oct, but the new price we were given ran through to Xmas. This I said to you. So how an apartment in the first week of Sept is half the price of the same property say in the first week of November beats me! This was a very last minute booking made when we were both well, so what happened to us was completely unforeseen. We are not encouraged.

I gave this 5 stars because there was very little that could be added to make the stay even more perfect for us.

I loved where it was positioned on the holiday park - it was so quiet and peaceful. We loved watching the rabbits in the morning and evenings. I stayed with my 19 year old daughter, and 14 year old son (who turned 15 whilst we were there). It was perfect for us because we didn't want to use the park facilities particulaly, only the fish and chip takeaway, the ice-cream place and the Nisa mini-supermarket. We thought it could benefit from some big spaghetti bowls and some side lamps. Apart from that it was perfect. A big and comfy seating area. Comfy beds. Generous supply of tea and coffee. Soft bedding. Car parking right next to caravan. And great to be between Filey and Scarborough, so we could visit our family and friends! If you have younger children I would highly recommend the park facilities, of play ground, swimming pool and much more!

This is an excellent property, with great facilities, and in a great location.

All the bedrooms are spacious with large beds and comfortable mattresses. There is also a small comfortable sitting room which leads onto an outside patio on the first floor landing which was a delight. Good place to read or just relax. The dining room and lounge easily accommodate 12 people if required. The kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances. There is an abundance of crockery, cutlery and glasses all of which is lovely. The property is just around the corner from the sea front which also accesses the Cleveland Way walking footpath. It’s about a 5 - 10 minute walk into the town centre and there is also a funicular tram service. I would highly recommend this property and I know my sister- in- law was considering another family stay. The welcome gift pack was a lovely treat and gratefully received. Thank you .
