What our customers are saying about our Beach Cottages In Polruan To Rent.
- Mrs Bovington, July 2018 - verified booking
"Positives: beautiful view and property was well equipped Negatives: Property is VERY damp, all of our clothes needed to be washed continuously as they were damp to touch and smelt of mould. The bedding was damp when we arrived so had to strip the beds, dry them and remake them. It was so damp it gave us sore throats and began to make us feel unwell. DO NOT book this property if you have any chest problems. This property has ONE patio slab at the back. I have spoken to Sykes about the description being misleading as it states there is a garden/patio. This is NOT the case. At the bottom of the property description it states a small yard, ONE patio slab does not qualify as a yard. This property is not suitable for dogs. We have a small dog and it was unable to go out and even turn around in this ‘garden/patio/yard’ as it was so small. When I phoned Sykes they were really unhelpful and said they’d call the owners. Being realistic, what can the owners do? They cannot strip and dry our beds at 10pm at night, sort out a major damp problem or build a garden within our weeks stay. We saved all year for this and it was not worth the price paid. Poor description and customer service by Sykes. Very disappointing stay and was please to come home to my clean and dry property."

"This was the second time we have stayed in this lovely apartment, it is spacious & very thoughtfully designed with everything you need for a relaxing break. Very nicely decorated and comfortable. The views of Fowey from the lounge are stunning & the tiny terrace at the front a fab place for morning coffee. This apartment is very centrally located in Polruan, only about 100m from two nice pubs & the village shop for basic groceries. The ferry goes regularly to Fowey which has some gorgeous restaurants & shops, we particularly like Sams brassiere, they do the best bouillabaisse I’ve ever had! We went on some fantastic walks, with sea views all around you, Lantic Bay is well worth the climb for the most beautiful sheltered beach, take a picnic as there are no amenities. This is a great holiday home in a very beautiful location, we will definitely be back"

"The Watch Below is a charming and comfortable cottage . The manager Tessa is warm and welcoming and the cottage was beautifully clean and well kept. We took our dog and she was given a warm welcome too. I liked the newly renovated bathroom. The evenings became a little chilly but having electric heaters in each room it is easy to quickly warm up wherever you are relaxing. Lovely views. Well situated for the ferry, access to the two local pubs and tea room. We did the Hall Walk which was a highlight . I think that offloading and loading the car can be a bit of a struggle because of the steep hills. However it would not put us off another holiday in Polruan."

"Fantastic property, very clean, spacious, views of the estuary and more than enough room for 5 adults and a dog.The boat over to Fowey takes just a few minutes where there are lots of places to eat and nearly all are dog friendly. Customer service from Cornish Horizons is second to none, they even ring you to check everything is ok (thank you Tom). The Cornish hospitality and welcome you receive when out and about just makes you want to live there!! If you are looking for tranquility, serenity and an escape from it all No 14, Polruan is just the place, you will never tire of those views! The Upton Family, Staffordshire."

"Very well furnished plus the little touches of cornish biscuits etc on the table. Cannot drive to the front door due to very narrow walk only street so drop off the luggage at either street end then drive back up to the carpark above the village. This could be clearer on the Sykes website but is not a problem for the able bodied. Polruan is a delightful village full of character and much quieter than Fowey which can be reached by pedestrian ferry every ten minutes or so at a cost one way of £2.40; apricey extra for those crossing for meals so use the two excellent Polruan pubs whose food is just as good."
