    Holiday Cottages in Mousehole

Once donned 'the loveliest village in England' by poet Dylan Thomas, Mousehole (pronounced 'Mowzel') offers a quintessentially Cornish holiday break. Situated right on West Cornwall's South West Coast Path, the rollercoaster of rugged clifftop paths will suit dog owners and keen walkers. Meanwhile, Mousehole Harbour has to be one of the most beautiful in the county, with its smattering of colourful fishing boats, and narrow streets lined with white-washed cottages.

Our holiday homes in Mousehole, Cornwall, are ideally situated for a perfect seaside getaway. If you're looking for a romantic break, why not browse our snug lodges and stone-built cottages, and relax in your own private hot tub. Or if you're bringing your furry friend, our dog-friendly Mousehole cottages come complete with enclosed gardens and access to plenty of long walks along sandy beaches. From large family farmhouses to couples retreats, our Cornish holiday cottages cover it all.

The best thing about our Mousehole holiday cottages is that they all come with a best price guarantee, as well as special discounts and offers. We have availability throughout the year, so as well as enjoying Mousehole's balmy summer sea views, you can also experience a gorgeous Cornish Christmas. The multi-coloured Christmas lights that illuminate Mousehole's harbour wall are renowned for their gaudy elegance, and are well worth a winter seaside break.

    More locations in Cornwall

From the heart of Mousehole, it doesn't take long to reach some of Cornwall's most iconic locations. The spectacular Minack Theatre and rugged Lizard Point are two of our favourites, or you could try these holiday spots for a bit of variety.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • The Halls, Bracknell - Verified booking

It is not often the holiday let you view online is even better than the marketing pictures but that is the case with Seahorse Cottage - we booked it because the pictures made it look so lovely - but when we arrived it was even better. Beautifully kept with gorgeous nautical theme throughout. We must applaud the cleanliness, absolutely perfectly clean. Must also applaud the thoughtfulness for guests, every detail you can think of has been thought of. We could have packed less as apart from your clothes and some fresh food you don't need anything! I usually travel to self catering houses with my spice rack and cooking bits and pieces as we love to cook and I did this time along with the usuals - tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, olive oil, salt and pepper etc - but the cupboards were stocked with all of these things (not to mention a scones upon arrival!) The house even had washing tablets if you need to do a wash while away. The other most important thing to us was how family friendly the house was. The attention to detail was very appreciated. When we arrived we thought it was going to be very difficult to watch our little 17 month old boy 100% of the time to ensure he didn't fall down the quite steep steps but under the stairs there were pressure fix stair gates that you can just put up if you need them. Not to mention a toy box full of toys, beach toys for outside, books and dvds for all ages. We brought along some books and toys for our little one but we didn't need to. There is even a buggy for you to use should you need that. The details didn't go unnoticed and made all the difference - White Company bed linen, Denby crockery, good quality cooking pans and utensils. All very appreciated! The location of the cottage is so quiet (apart from the seagulls!) It is just a 2 min walk to the harbour and all the little tearooms. We thought Mousehole was a beautiful little village and would definitely go back again. The harbour is gorgeous and very quaint. Thank you to the owners of Seahorse cottage for making our stay so comfortable and homely!

Our first visit to Penzance and it couldn’t have been better.

We had a wonderfully relaxing break at Mackerel Sky. The house is comfortable, with plenty of space and well equipped. Everything you need for a great break. The location is perfect for exploring the area with great coastal walks. It was great to come back and make use of the sauna too. Also so convenient for walking into town and all the shops, pubs and restaurants. We were fortunate to get a parking space on the day we arrived and we didn’t move the car once…didn’t need to, so much to do within walking distance. The voucher for Mackerel Sky Seafood bar in Newlyn was most welcome and we had a fantastic meal there. All in all a super week. Thank you.

This was our first visit to Mousehole and what a beautiful place it is! We have had such a lovely time exploring and were very lucky with the weather too. thank you for such a great cottage, there was everything we could possibly need and what a wonderful location! I really appreciated the little touches of luxury too...lovely pillow mist and hand cream, quality towels and bedding, flowers and cream tea on arrival. It doesn't go unnoticed and was really appreciated. We would definitely return here.

The location is wonderful. Definitely recommend the Mousehole Deli and Kitchen, fabulous food and wine and lovely staff! Sad that dogs are not allowed on any of the beaches... Be aware you cannot get direct to the cottage by car...go to the carpark on the Quay and it's a couple of minutes to walk to the cottage. The carpark attendant was very helpful! If you are taking a dog be aware there is nowhere to sit out where your dog is safe to be off the lead.

    • Mr Peter Fowle - Verified booking

Our stay at Mousehole was lovely, weather great (for October) Stargazy a superb cottage, wonderful views a good access to harbour, the only problem was parking. We were fortunate our holiday started when parking regulations changed from Sept 30th,otherwise it would have cost £70 parking for the 14days we were there.Think Original Cottages should consider a price reduction to reflect the parking charges, other than that fantastic holiday !!!
