    St Just Holiday Cottages

St Just in Penwith is a town and civil parish in the Penwith district of Cornwall, sitting within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s the nearest town to Land’s End, so St Just holiday cottages are often booked by those looking to stay-cay as south as possible.

Ideally located, close to the stunning north coast and to the edge of the moors, St Just was originally the centre of the tin mining industry but today is more tourist-focused than industrial. Its heritage remains visible in the nature of the street layout and the granite cottages situated throughout, as well as the placement of Plain-an-Gwarry, a medieval theatre that remains intact today. The Lafrowda Festival takes place annually in St Just, also reflecting the rich history of this corner of Cornwall. Close to Cape Cornwall, visitors often walk up to the most westerly point of the UK to enjoy the views across the spectacular hump-back cape some 229 feet above sea level.

Snaptrip has thousands of options for holiday cottages in St Just and all across the country, with every booking protected by our best price guarantee to ensure unrivalled value.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Robert - Verified booking

      No barbecue.

No oven glove. No washing machine detergents etc. Not enough crockery for a family of four to have a day's worth of meals without having to use dishwasher. Needs an extra comfy chair in the lounge. Had to hunt for Wi-Fi code. No info re bin collection day etc. Key safe was very difficult to open (as if the lid was stuck?). Massive cobwebs down the side of the bathroom cabinet between it and the wall. Bedroom door doesn't latch shut (latch needs adjusting but I didn't have my toolkit with me). So in several areas not quite as described or in photo's. We were overall a bit disappointed because it didn't live up to what we were expecting from some reviews and compared to other places we have stayed. However, it was early in the season so maybe not up to their usual standard? Good location. Great place for plane spotters as it's right under the flight path for Land's End Airport and the SkyBus to the Scillies takes off every ten minutes.

In my opinion, the property is in need of much better cleaning.

My son (who never normally comments on cleanliness), felt uncomfortable sleeping in the second bedroom saying it smelt of dog. Which the rugs did. There were also hairs on rhe bed linen and the matress protectors looked ancient. In the main bedroom, we had a missing mattress protector. When I raised this l felt we were fobbed off. There were also hairs in the draws on the back of the main door etc. Its a lovely property in a great location for walking etc, but really does need some tlc and a really good clean. Also, while we appreciated the welcome gift, I'm not sure it would land well if your were vegetarian. It also took up a significant part of a super small fridge! Anyway, sorry for the moan, but when you str paying 2,500 for a week and a further payment for a dog, you expect the property to be clean.

The cottage is situated in a perfect area for walking, lots of walks to choose from and the buses were regular and just down the road. The Cottage was warm and the beds were very comfortable and the water was always lovely and hot. To make the stay more customer friendly the information pack needs to be kept up to date as it is way out of date, including the bus time table which should have been changed in September and the wi-fi codes as there were two different codes in the pack! The parking spot really is not big enough , even for a small car. My small Audi could not fit in as the back end would have stuck out into the road, on a bend! so really it should not be advertised as parking for a small car ... a Fiat 500 maybe or a Smart car would fit, nothing bigger.

Second visit to this fabulously cosy cottage. Super warm without having to use the upstairs radiators as new log burner worked a treat. Cottage contains all you would need for cooking or baking and facilities for evenings enjoyed catching up on films etc, or playing cards and board games. If you enjoy walking, don't look for another place to stay; lots of places accessible without using the car. The coastal walks are stunning in any weather. Do walk to the dog friendly Geevor Mine café, for a fabulous choice of breakfasts and lunches, and The Queen's arms is 2 minutes on foot for a friendly welcoming meal or quiz night on Thursdays. We highly recommend a stay at Crown Mine Cottage and will be back to stay soon. Thank you for sharing it.

    • Mr Rice - Verified booking

Very welcoming cottage, with scones and clotted cream provided for cream teas. Kitchen well stocked with pots, utensils etc. and lots of games and books for rainy days. Used the log burner a couple of times which made it nice and cozy. The beds were very comfortable and extra blankets were also supplied. Coming from a city it was great to not hear anything outside at night times so I could sleep well. The cottage is ideally located to access the SW coastal path and the Cornish mining heritage sites. It is a 30 minute walk to St Just, with lots of nice shops, cafes bars and art galleries. It is also only 2 minutes to the Queen's Arms Pub that serves very good food. Would happily stay at the cottage again.
