    Lizard Holiday Cottages

As the most southerly point in the United Kingdom, Lizard Point has that 'End of the World' quality about it; wild, rugged and magnificent. Much of Cornwall's Lizard Peninsula is part of an area of outstanding natural beauty, and when you visit, you'll understand why. Small coves and secluded beaches dig their way out of the land, perfect for introverted exploration. Otherwise, long sandy beaches like Praa Sands offer Cornish surf and delicious ice-cream to sun-worshippers.

This area of the South Coast is best discovered from the comfort of a self-catering cottage, and with our large range you'll have your pick of hundreds. For a romantic break, choose from cosy log cabins with a hot tub, or if you're organising a large group holiday take a look at our sprawling barn conversions with loads of socialising space. With the South West Coastal Path on your doorstep, you'll want to explore on foot - and with our dog-friendly homes, bringing Fido along is simple.

Our customer services team is always on hand to help you find the ideal holiday home. From sea views to swimming pools, we have cottages spread throughout the Lizard Peninsula, giving you ample time and space to explore. Try visiting the village of Coverack, with a picture-perfect harbour and access to some of the best watersports in the area. Or head to the atmospheric Cadgwith Cove to watch the fishing boats come in and purchase fresh catch at the fantastic seafood market.

    More locations in Cornwall

If you're looking to expand your search beyond the wild Lizard Peninsula, there are plenty of fabulous towns in Cornwall to consider. St Ives and Newquay need no introduction, or try Looe and Bude for something different.

What our customers say about their holidays

We are regular visitors - which reflects our long-standing affection for the area and the lighthouse in particular I have given five stars, as the accommodation is clean, well equipped and perfect for a break away from work. I only have one gripe - we did find the move to a Friday changeover immensely inconvenient. The Lizard is a remote part of the UK which is part of the charm, but this means that it is a long distance for most guests to travel. A Friday changeover leads to you either taking an extra day off work or being forced to miss a day on your holiday . It also causes you to travel on a busy work day rather than a leisurely drive down on a Saturday. Not sure why the change has been introduced, it doesn’t benefit the customer experience.

What a fabulous place to stay! It was for our Honeymoon! and my husband hasn't stopped talking about how fabulous the place was to stay, we were the only ones staying there as it was November, the setting was idyllic waking up to see the sea every day and so peaceful, even though we had a storm one day you couldn't tell. We even got to hear the fog horn! which to be honest isn't as loud as you would expect! the Welcome hamper was fantastic! and Jo even called me to see what wine we wanted and was able to accommodate us as we don't drink wine. The pub in the village was wonderful and food was excellent! I wanted to stay and live there forever! Thank You Rural Retreats I Will be recommending you to all who ask about our honeymoon.

We had a lovely week at Parc an Castle cottage, it is basic but we were aware of this and were going for the views and to an area that we knew well.

We were not disappointed, the views were amazing from nearly every window and I happily sat for hours at the lounge window looking out to sea. Despite being in the middle of global pandemic we felt very safe here, there are lovely coastal walks straight from your front door and it is very peaceful and private for a relaxing holiday. The owner lives on site and is very friendly and helpful. The decor of the cottage could do with being updated in places but the beds were comfortable and we'd happily return, those views and sunsets are to die for!!⁶

      Too small to be comfortable.

The description of "courtyard garden" for us was a stretch to far. It truth it is just the entrance to the property, and with the gate closed no view at all. The bedroom was so small there was not even room to store clothing apart from on the wals. Bathroom tiny with no window and extractor did nor work. Curtains very poor. Water stained and needed changing. On a positive short walk to coast path & village, but not worth the money, & owner very helpful in getting the cooker to work Soory to be negative, but these are our thoughts
