What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Wifi In The Lake District To Rent.

"Place was ok, but it is a little 'tired'. For what you pay, you'd expect that some of it would be going back in to make the place top notch. Kitchen needs replacing, bathroom needs replacing. Would have been nice to have things like some hand soap there when you arrive, kitchen roll, perhaps even some tea and coffee, some basics. There were limited amounts of crockery, ok for 5 people which is what the cottage sleeps, but not enough if you have friends locally who you might want to have around. It's expensive for what you get. Parking could be a little bit of a pain at times, there is no parking at the property so you were reliant on getting a space on the road. Nice village though and the café at the village hall is well worth a visit."

"The house could do with a thorough clean. On the face of it it looks clean, but it could do with furniture moving and vacuuming thoroughly and the kitchen given a good clean, the cupboard fronts were a bit greasy and dirty. The heating thermostat was not user friendly. I would replace it with a dial where you can turn the heating down or off. I am a woman of a certain age and found it awfully hot and had to turn radiators off, however as the thermostat was stuck on 21 degrees the boiler kept going trying to get the room up to 21. A terrible waste of gas. We have stopped as this property for many years snd the bathroom light switch is still in need of replacing. Having said all this we do love our stays."

"We recommend this apartment. It is well designed and thoughtfully furnished with everything that you need, and it is surprisingly spacious with ample room for wet coats and boots. It would be particularly good for two couples or older children as the two bedrooms are very private. There was a designated parking space which was big enough for our large car and the location in the heart of the village meant that we didn’t need to use it during our short break. Although I have no idea what it would be like in the middle of the summer it was extremely quiet when we were there during term time in December. We would definitely use this apartment again if we return to Grasmere."

"This was everything and more we could have hoped for. 'Cute' and 'cosy' are two words that immediately spring to mind in describing Gates Bridge, but that implies a home that's lacking in size or stature, and neither is true: this cottage has great character, charm and heart. The two of us, and our little terrier, were superbly catered for, by the cottage and indeed the village of Caldbeck, an idyllic hamlet with everything you need on your doorstep (pub, cafes, shops) and the perfect starting point for a wider exploration of The Lakes. You have to be very hard to please to give S85207 anything less than a 9/10. We loved it."

"What a wonderful cottage ! Best we've ever been in. Everything we needed including a complementary bottle of fizz and a voucher for two cream teas. The owner was very friendly and provided us with logs. We had a lovely fire every evening as well as excellent central heating which makes a huge difference when the weather was very mixed with lots of rain and wind. Very clean and everything worked. We have always liked Caldbeck, a 'real' village rather than a tourist trap. Just a pity it is only for two as we'd have loved to take our friends to this cottage. Hopefully we will go back next year. What a find !"
