"The apartment was beautiful and very clean. The location was fantastic, literally 2 mins to the town and 5 mins to lake. However parking was a nightmare and if you were lucky enough to get a spot, move and it was gone. The local car park was very close but really expensive at @ £7 for a few hours. The accommodation was advertised as having parking however this was communal not specific. As a party with 2 elderly guests there was no mention of the very steep concrete steps to access the building. The apartment would be wonderful for 2 adults and 2 children but far too small for 4 adults. Because of the way the living room was set out, 4 people could not watch tv as you were sat sideways to the TV. It would have been better sited the other side of the room where the wooden cat is on a bracket? The another small chair could be fitted. The second bedroom was so small that there was not bedside table and a cupboard had been converted to house clothes, you could only access by kneeling on the bed, no good for people in their 80’s. In order for 4 to sit comfortably around the table, you had to move the table out into the living room which then blocked off the door into the hall and access to the kitchen. We are holiday home owners ourselves and all our ads state “not suitable for those with mobility problems” I don’t mean to sound negative and if we were a couple, it would have ticked every box as it is lovely, however as a group of 4 we won’t be returning sadly."

"It's our third visit to the house since 2010, a great house and garden, spacious and comfortable for us and now WiFi. Brilliant location for walks, town, touring and the lake.Sadly the high standards of cleanliness etc we experienced before, in our opinion have lapsed a little, it now needs a deep clean and a lick of paint in places. There was a musty smell in the lounge and the double bedroom. After only one night in the double bed we had to wash the sheets as they didn't smell fresh, the mattress protector looked a bit grubby so washed that too, we wish we hadn't removed it as the mattress was badly stained, very noticeable when the curtains were drawn, the pillow protectors also looked in need of a wash but didn't remove them as we had a reluctance to see what state of cleanliness the pillows were in.There was dog hair and dust on the down stairs skirting board and the hoover stank when in use. Both showers came on at the same time but there was an apologetic note advising this, and the toilet seat in the main bathroom was loose and the flush button didn't operate properly which we reported to the office, hopefully this will be fixed soon, we were there two weeks but no maintenance man came.Would we return, probably? I'm hoping these issues are just a blip because we really love this house."

"I think there is little point doing reviews unless they are honest. The upstairs and kitchen of S75658 are fine, but the lounge and ‘sun room’ are drab and depressing. The garden is perfect for dogs, but the parking leaves a lot to be desired, as the farmer who keeps his equipment next door is in and out with heavy equipment from early morning. There is not a shop in the village ( not unusual ) but there not being a welcome pack of basics was. We visit several cottages each year and have never been to one that didn’t provide at least bread, milk and usually a bottle of wine. So go prepared. That said the shop in the next village is wonderful and living in a Peak District Village ourselves I thought it was a wonderful facility. There is building work taking place locally even Saturday and Sunday but the company we rented from just said it didn’t bother the owners! Unfortunately , it bothered us as we are used to peace and quiet. We visited most of the Lakes which was the purpose of the visit. The cottage is described as detached but it seems to be attached to the farm buildings behind."

"Loved the lodge location and how well kept it was! 1 minute walk from the lovely lakeside, nice calm area no noise from other lodges etc. Sadly the onsite resturant was absolutely awful we ate there first night and it was overpriced food at Wetherspoons quality, please avoid if you consider going there for anything more than a drink, partner and me found two hairs in our food we complained and they offered us a replacement meal I refused it as I didn't fancy being let down again and I just requested they maybe take it up with kitchen staff to take a bit more care in prepping food. Anyway besides that was a lovely stay, wish we could of walked into windermere or ambleside and probably would of managed but I was 34 weeks preg at the time of stay. Decking was lovely place to chill out and the whole lodge was child friendly enough for our 1 year old to roam free safely. We were blessed with hot weather which was perfect."

"From the moment we walked into S75658 we were in love with this fantastic holiday home. The cottage was spotless and very well equipped. The extra tea bags, coffee and cleaning equipment was very welcome. The owners, Winter and Daniel were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The beds were very comfy and the sitting room was cosy. It must be a real treat in the winter to have a nice log fire on the go. The local farmer always had a friendly wave and stopped to let our grandson have a look around his tractor. The play park opposite was lovely with all the equipment well maintained. This cottage is in a wonderful location for a peaceful holiday but within easy reach of the busy parts of the Lakes."
