"We found the cottage everything we wanted in a beautiful village. With two pubs, one cafe and an hotel serving food within five minutes walk it is ideal after returning from busy sightseeing. Some of our meals where a bit hit and miss but where ok, The Giant being best for food and the Royal Oak for drinks. The cottage is very spacious with a lovely garden and appears much older on the outside than its 16 years. Large modern television was much appreciated and large choice of DVD,s and Cd's. Now a few things would make perfect: New single mattresses, both old and uncomfortable . The double bed was the same and replacing with new king size would be fantastic. A good nights sleep is so important !The sofas in the lounge are very saggy and need refurbished or replaced. A hair drier would be good and socket put near mirrors and stools to sit on.Also a small welcome pack with milk would be good for guests arriving too late for thr local store.Would definitely return but think we saw most places, Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Sherborne , Shaftesbury etc. Avoid Poole."

"A lovely cosy and warm cottage for a winter break and we were given a very warm welcome by the owner. We are a family with 2 young children staying and it was perfect for us. The owner was so friendly and helpful, providing us with a fire guard and cot side for the bed, info on nearby things to do and even delivering extra toilet paper when we ran out. The second bedroom is small, one of the beds is only a 2ft6 single but this was absolutely fine for small children. The cottage is a bungalow but does have 5 internal steps. It was handy having a nice little enclosed garden for the children to play in although the patio has about a foot drop to the grass with no fence so this may not suit very young but mobile children. The cottage is only about 20mins walk (2min drive) from the Lulworth cove which, in additions to the cove had an interesting visitors centre and great ice-cream shop. The cottage also seemed well located for other days out and plenty to do locally. All in all excellent."

"Not particularly clean. Fridge flithy and sitting room carpet grubby. Spiders web in bedroom. Garden untidy. Outside painwork peeling. Stairs very difficult to traverse especially when trying to carry items, (narrow, uneven treads and it turns 360 degrees), being particularly difficult or even dangerous for older people like me (I sslipped on the way down). Dark rooms with poor lighting. Unable to use parking space because of large wasp nest. Property is for sale and I was asked to allow potential purchasers to view the cottage! Limited choice of TV channels. No dishwasher. Shower is controlled by adjusting the bath taps and it wasn't very easy to get the temperature right. Main bedroom is adequte in size but second bedroom is really quite small. Wi-fi speed okay. The town of Beaminster was lovely and the people friendly."

"Accommodation is very quiet and secluded so perfect if this is what you are looking for. A recently refurbished, friendly pub within easy walking distance. Heat is generally provided by some effective storage heater with a wood burner for additional heat if required (recommend bringing fire lighters if you are less adept with newspaper and kindling). One basket of wood is provided free but plenty of additional wood was available at very reasonable cost. The property is accessed via external steps. This coupled with an exceptionally high bed might make the property challenging for the elderly and infirm. Overall this property lived up to its billing and we had a very enjoyable stay. Oct 2012."

"We took our daughter and Grandchildren for a holiday in Dorset and we were all very pleased with Riverside Close cottage. The cottage was spacious and ideal for a young family with beaches within 30 minutes. The village of Cerne Abbas was delightful with three pub/ restaurants all within walking distance of the cottage. Next to the cottage was a playing field and play park that were a real bonus for the children. The cottage owner was very welcoming making us feel at home from the outset. The cottage was clean and well maintained with a conservatory where we enjoyed all our evening meals. We would definitely recommend this cottage. James Oxford."
