"This cottage was in an idyllic setting, fantastic grounds, beautiful surrounding areas. The kitchen hosted a dishwasher which was an unexpected bonus and was very well equipped with crockery, cutlery, pans and other cooking and baking utensils. Where it let itself down was on the cleanliness of the downstairs living area, hallway and kitchen (upstairs fine) it totally stunk of dog, and for a property that says no pets this surprised us. The floors were totally filthy and left our socks black. We spent the first few hours hoovering and mopping the downstairs floors to make it more habitable and get rid of the smell. Maybe for people who have dogs this may not have been an issue but it was for us, especially with 2 x 15 month old infants playing on the floor. On the up side we managed to get the pool upto a toasty 27 degrees after finding the isolation switch for the heater and turning it on (the owner only turned the filter on) if it wasn't for the fact we were unhappy with the cleanliness downstairs we would have scored this much higher."

"This is the second time we have stayed at 7 Coastguard Cottages. The location is wonderful, and the cottage itself is old, and unique. It is well equipped. However, we did experience some issues this year.* I had to replace five light bulbs in the living /dining area to be able to see after dark. The local agent replaced another four, with three in the kitchen.* One of the easy chairs had a broken leg, and was unsafe (it tipped my 29 year old son out!) Not an issue at 29 and physically fit, but I'm not sure how well it would have been if I had been the one to be tipped out, as I have pretty bad arthritis.* The top oven does not work at all, and the grill takes perhaps 15-20 minutes to warm up.* The garden umbrella was broken, and could not be used.I feel I left the cottage cleaner than I found it, but the location is so good I would want to return."

"I had the initial misfortune of speaking to the lady who owned the property , who , for whatever reason made me feel that I was less than welcome ... and didnt bode well for the holiday . The cottage is wonderful - however it is very dated with white woodchip wallpaper throughout in 2015!!! The kitchen facilities are poor - blatently cheap pans etc ...The cottage is desperately in need of a full refurb - however - the location is stunning . The pictures do not do the location any justice at all . Distance to the beach being just yards away - and the local people are truly gorgious ! The 2 fisherman who fish off the cove bring the catch right onto the shore- then 10 yards to their shack to sell it... so buying there is a must ... only yards from your front door .Overall , cottage a disapointment internally , but is made up for by its stunning location -"

"A nice cottage a stones throw away from the beautiful Lulworth Cove. I stayed on my own for 4 nights whilst in the area on business in Jan 2016 so with the winter weather some of the rooms in the cottage were freezing, especially both bathrooms. I can imagine its lovely with all windows open and sitting in the front garden in the peak of summer. The views are outstanding. Kitchen was well stocked and it has a log burner in the living room - very cosy. To me the cottage felt haunted. It was quite creepy at night due to the layout of the upper and lower floors (long corridors, bedrooms with single beds all linked via various doors). I would stay again but I would take someone with me and go in the peak of summer."

"We stayed for a few days in Easter during April. The cottage is in a lovely quite location with a friendly pub serving decent food only a five minute walk away. the general location is fantastic with Hive Beach a 5 minute drive away. Hive beach itself is very nice with again a fantastic restaurant on the beach serving superb sea food. Very close to Birdport and West Bay and centrally located for everything from Weymouth and Lulworth Cove to Corfe Castle and Lyme Regis all an easy drive away. Cottage was a good size and very clean. Views from the back over some beautiful countryside. Would certainly recommend and would stay again. Stayed April 2017"
