"The cottage is better equipped than most, the furniture is solid, stable, comfortable and there is lots of it - plenty of storage and lots of bed space and extra blankets. If you wish to make a home cooked meal there are plenty of utensils, crockery and kitchenware. The kitchen is a little tight for space, and headroom and stair tread limited in places throughout-but it does add a certain charm and we have stayed more than once and would stay again. The bath area looks tired, but is functional. If this were to be redone, making use of the extra space to include a washing machine it would guarantee our repeat visits! As it is, not having a washing machine is a downside to what is otherwise a lovely family house. The rain during our stay meant we stayed home an entire day, and most mornings. The house did not feel cramped (although we took our own PS3 for the kids!) and had time to read some books and magazines and then watch some dvds. A good selection is provided, but it was far more tempting to stay in bed and look at Corfe Castle through the bedroom window; with a mug of tea and toast made with fresh bread from the local bakery. "We loved our time at Rose Cottage and really want to come again. The location is wonderful, views of the Castle from the bedroom and a quiet and beautiful street out at the front. It is ideal if you have a dog as there is easy access onto the Common for first thing in the morning and last thing at night walks. The only down side is the VERY steep stair to the upper bedroom which has the double bed in it. The information says that these are steep but until we saw them we didn't realise how steep, still it didn't stop us from using that room. The yard/garden is lovely, full of lovely scents and herbs. The kitchen is very well equipped. The shops are within a very short walk to collect morning papers and fresh baked bread etc from the bakery on the square. The well stocked and friendly village shop will deliver a box ready for your arrival, we didn't do this but might next time and is nice to know."

"This cottage was so much better than I was expecting. Best of all it was a great location. We knew it had no wi-fi but we coped. We learnt how to use the gas fired stove in the main room which was needed to dry off towels and coats after the rain, but we did miss the use of a washing/dryer which could have made things easier. Overall the cottage felt loved and the sofas were comfortable and clearly pretty new and clean which was great. I think the cottage suited all of us because we are all fairly small people. I imagine if you are 6ft you might struggle with the low ceilings and narrow stairs."

"Very clean. Some groceries thoughtfully provided on arrival. Good value as you are getting a detached property with two bedrooms, a conservatory and a small private garden for your money. Some noise from the road at night as you are very close to the main street but not that intrusive. The only drawback was the parking which was a bit tight and involved a 3 point turn to get back out unless you reverse out or in.... tricky and not advisable. I have a Honda Civic and I wouldn't want to park anything much bigger. In fairness, the literature does advise small or medium sized cars."

"We had a lovely week in the Old Smithy cottage, A lovely touch with a welcome cake, tea, coffee and milk. There was everything you needed in the cottage, well equipped kitchen and the whole cottage was lovely and clean. The bed was comfy and we slept well. Best fish and chip shop in the village (and we live by the sea). Parking can be a bit of an issue and would recommend that you reverse up into the parking area to avoid problems getting out, it is very tight.we were fortunate with the weather so we able to enjoy sitting out in the small garden in the afternoon."
