What our customers say about their holidays

The cottage is on a working farm, so as long as you’re okay with expecting the smells and noises of a farm, it’s perfect.

The hot tub is right on the decking now and it has been made extra private with a gate inbetween the cottage and the glamping pod, just the cows that can see you from the field. It is located right in the middle of the Dales and the Moors giving you the best of both worlds with loads of things to do within an hour drive. The hosts couldn’t be anymore friendly and welcoming, providing a book of recommended restaurants, taxi services, and days out. It has a log fire that has roughly 3 days worth of logs and newspaper to get it going. The hosts now have two curious little kitty cats who have no fear in roaming the grounds so if they let them outside, they will tend to venture over and say hello through the gate, and peak over the hot tub, and even venture into the cow field if they are feeling brave. Their dog Holly is also very friendly even though from a distance she will bark your ear off, that’s not an aggressive bark though, that’s her saying hello. The farm now caters for everyone possible, campers and walkers have the shelters on the left of the farm, glampers have the pod and hot tub and the luxury revellers have the cottage with a seperate hot tub. I could not recommend this place any more than, it has been perfect enough for a week away 2 years in a row just because there was so much we didn’t get round to doing the first year. Loved every minute of it. Won’t be back now as will be exploring other areas of the UK but definitely worth going back in a few years.

On entering the property through the rear door our first impression was good, the extension with bifold doors and enclosed garden for our dog with beautiful views were great.

From that point on it went downhill. Entering into the main part of cottage it is very dark and needed lights on at all times as very tiny windows. As the windows did not open and there was no ventilation in the kitchen, not even extraction for cooking. Duvet cover not even ironed. Cupboard space and work surface was very limited. Our main concern was the fly infestation, of which there was hundreds. There would be dozens dead on the floor and work surfaces each day. There was so many they left poop marks on the duvet cover, table cloth and the bath. Mary the owner seemed a nice lady but on telling her about the flies all she said was it doesn't help that we had bifold doors open. Without them open we would not have had any ventilation at all. Definitely needs a fly screen, which we suggested to Mary. At night we could could feel the flies buzzing around us, very uncomfortable feeling. We have stayed at many cottages and have received some good, some great and some fantastic welcome packs. Here we received a small packet with two biscuits. There is only one dog walk nearby and you have to cross the busy road to get to it. We eventually came home a day early.

      Absolutely amazing host - Mary.

Such a lovely, warm and welcoming lady. Very informative and gave us some great recommendations for places to visit and eat locally. The cottage was lovely, quaint and immaculately clean throughout. Even though this cottage is on a working farm we never experienced any noise or disruption from this. The positioning of the cottage and hot tub is spot on with beautiful field views for as far as the eye can see!! Hot tub very clean and well maintained by the owners. I have two small constructive criticisms and this is that the sofas in the property are quite old and uncomfortable to sit on, not allowing for much relaxing in front of the tv. The other would just be that some of the interior is a little dated and this made the property feel a little dingy. However, this being said, we had a lovely break in the cottage and would highly recommend this to anyone.

Great cottage in a good location.

Although beside a main road you don’t hear traffic. The owner, Mary, was there and helpful if you needed her, but didn’t intrude. We wanted a quiet, romantic week away and that’s exactly what we got. Great views from the bifold doors, would be lovely in the summer to sit with them open. You can also book breakfast or dinner in the farmhouse b&b should you wish. The only small negatives were that the bed was very short! My husband is only 5ft 8in, but his feet were pressed against the footboard. If you’re over that height you’d have to sleep on your side with your legs tucked up! And a shaving mirror by the sink would be useful, as the main bathroom mirror is behind you.

Lovely little cottage with a private hot tub.

Check in was very easy, although the Sat nav did try and trick us. Nice wood burner in the cottage which we had to light twice but that was easy enough. The hot tub was regularly maintained but Mary was not intrusive at all. There was everything there we needed but we didn't do any cooking. The only thing I would comment on was the bed was very squeaky whenever you moved slightly and a bit uncomfortable but that could be my own personal preference. I would still return there as we still thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
