Nestled in Dorset, Weymouth is a popular seaside town that's home to a Blue Flag award-winning beach that's often dubbed one of the best beach destinations in the whole of Europe. Weymouth Beach isn't the only attraction either as travellers flock here every year to see the Jurassic Coast, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the likes of Weymouth Sealife Park and the Victorian Nothe Fort.

The Weymouth holiday cottages are just as impressive too. Families are sure to love the self-catering cottages in the town of Weymouth, close to all of the action. Couples can use their holiday home as a base for exploring the nearby countryside and groups of friends can say cheers to the special celebration in their private hot tub overlooking a sandy beach. You see, at Snaptrip, we have thousands of self-catering holiday accommodations that provide the perfect base for all types of breaks - even those pet-friendly. And whether you want to be close to golden sands or green fields, or maybe even slap bang in the middle of the town centre, our properties all over the United Kingdom are sure to impress. What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jeremy - Verified booking

The week just spent here was a family 'get-together' to celebrate our Golden Wedding.

Generally, we enjoyed a very pleasant week in Dorset, in this spacious property which catered extremely well for the needs of our group. It afforded privacy when needed (particularly for one member who had to work digitally 'from home' throughout the week). The property was spotlessly clean and internally, in excellent decorative order. Having three bath/ shower rooms was a real bonus as was the ample off-road parking. The beds were extremely comfortable. Skylark is beautifully located in a quiet residential close but with a feeling of peaceful solitude once through the gates. The views of hills from both back and front and of the sea to the south were lovely and the little white gate was frequently used to access some stunningly scenic walks (and runs) in the hills or when heading down to the Kings Arms or farm shop. One or two minor grumbles... On arrival, we had to play a game of 'hunt the key safe'. Fortunately, it was eventually located without the need to call the given phone number but a bit of guidance in the pre-visit email would have been helpful. A folding clothes airer would have been a useful addition as it could have been placed inconspicuously outside for helping to dry damp towels etc. Mindful of the £100 penalty for incorrect recycling, we were slightly annoyed to discover the previous 'residents' had left a selection of non-recyclable items in the green-topped bin which, in order to avoid being penalised for the sins of the previous guests, necessitated the rather unpleasant task of us having to re-sort the contents into the correct bin. It was felt that one or two bits of guidance in the welcome pack were due an update. Generally though, a lovely property which we would be happy to recommend to others.

The kitchen is well equipped and with the three bathrooms there were plenty of facilities for eight of us (6 adults and 2 children) The garden allows plenty of space for safe play although it is rather untamed.

Highly recommend the pub down the road, take a torch if returning in the dark. Although we generally enjoyed our stay the following issues need a mention: 1. It was not easy to locate and operate the key safe and we were jolly glad it wasn't raining given that it took about 10 minutes. On leaving we couldn't operate the safe and put the keys through the letter box. 2. E V. (Electric Vehicle charging) was a major reason we chose 'Skylark' and it proved to be a pair of 13 amp sockets without an adaptor lead. We travel with a charging lead but not an adaptor lead since we have have a charging socket at home. The person I contacted said he didn't have an EV and didn't know anything about them and had installed the sockets. This was a disappointment and frustration. At least insert a note for people to bring the necessary charging adaptor in the information. 3 The wardrobes had a rather musty aroma which penetrated clothes hanging in them. Keep your clothes in your suitcase if you can. 4. The en-suite wet room shower made most of the floor wet and would benefit from having an enclosure. 5. The television, as mentioned in other reviews, is unique and not intuitive!

Blueberry cottage is very nice, well maintained and modern, warm, good facilities, enjoyable place to stay.

The location, almost equidistant between Weymouth and Dorchester and in a quiet village is excellent. On the downside, car parking is a problem. There is no designated parking spot for the cottage and the locals are extremely possessive of any spaces going, including in front of the cottage itself. We parked as far as 200 yards away opposite the village pub. A minor problem concerns the loo which is on the ground floor off the kitchen. Navigating steep stairs from the bedroom in the night to visit the loo is not ideal. Almost reminds me of early years, at least this loo is inside! On a wider issue, why do Sykes insist on Friday to Friday lettings? Friday is the worst day of the week for road travel. Arriving on holiday in an unfamiliar place fraught from Friday travel is not the best start to a holiday. We use other holiday cottage agencies who are happy with Saturday to Saturday lettings and I'm afraid whilst Sykes continue with this Friday to Friday situation, we shall prioritise those other agencies for cottage bookings.

Of all the cottages I have stayed in this was possibly the nicest.

Immaculate inside and out, looked brand new though I believe it was built 10 years ago. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, spacious and well designed. Bathroom was stylish and very clean. Bedroom was roomy and comfortable, there was a spare duvet which I only discovered on the last day, might have come in handy as I had to sleep on the sofa one night. Kitchen modern, with everything you could want. Lounge area comfortable, smart TV with access to all the apps you could want. WiFi connection was strong and reliable - which is hardy ever the case in cottages I have stayed in. Games and book cupboard with a great range of ... games and books! The location was great - 10 minutes from Weymouth and the beach, 14 minutes from Dorchester. Owners friendly and welcoming. We really had a great time.

The cottages was very pleasant, clean and comfortable.

The only thing we would say negatively is the outside seating needs to be addressed as the chairs had no cushions and were most uncomfortable without. The only other downside is the parking, we could not park outside of the cottage at all as the cars that were parked there when we arrived on the Friday evening didn't move all week, we therefore parked outside of the pub but when it is high season and busy that may prove very difficult to do. Other than these two little niggles we had a lovely week and enjoyed the cottage very much. The best places to eat are The Smugglers Inn at Osmington Mills and the Seven Stars at Moreton both of these are so much better than the pub in the village both food and atmosphere also The Crown Inn at Stickland does a really good Sunday roast.
