What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Jenny Glauert - Verified booking

This accommodation was warm, comfortable and cosy and while fairly compact (it is a studio apartment as advertised) had everything to hand. It seems crazy to need to mention but we were able to relax instantly at this property because it was a rarity in that everything worked properly. The wifi was good, the TV was tuned in with working DVD player, the cooker was fully functional, the shower pressure was just excellent and very hot and the refrigerator was high quality and very quiet. Pots, pans and dishes were all high quality and clean. The owner did have to come over to fix a leak on Sunday evening, but was happy to do so and very friendly. The area itself is straight out onto beautiful walks with plenty of winter activities also within a 25-35 minute drive and is well situated amongst amenities with several pub/restaurants nearby, but check for opening times as these were not open on our winter break. An excellent base for our holiday. Many thanks to the owners!

    • Miss Worrell - Verified booking

I spent a lovely week at Malsters Studio, and it was perfect for my sort of holiday. I was looking for a base from which to explore a stretch of the coastal path, and it was a great place to come back to at the end of long days out. Very cosy and warm with underfloor heating and lovely hot shower, good wifi for planning the next day's walk, and practical design and layout. Parking space on the drive right next to the studio was really convenient. The owners were just next door, and really friendly and helpful, although you definitely still have your privacy. The location was great - it was about an hour's walk into Padstow along the Little Petherick Creek, which forms part of the Saints Way, and you could also easily access the Camel Trail. If you enjoy walking then this is the perfect spot as it offers access not only to the South West coastal path at Padstow, but also the opportunity to explore some of the inland long distance trails as well.

    • Mrs S - Verified booking

We usually holiday in St Ives when in Cornwall so were initially a little taken aback by the remoteness of the location and the 'walls' of hedgerow that frame many of North Cornwall's roads. However, we were delighted to find that Barney's Cottage lived up to its online description. The barn's conversion has been carried out to a high spec and beautifully finished right down to the deliciously comfy giant sofas and enormous comfortable bed. Our beloved 17 year old Jack Russell passed away just before this holiday, which was booked with Millie in mind, but we know she would have approved of the under floor heating next to her little paws and safely secured back garden. If a peaceful secluded retreat is what you crave from your holiday in Cornwall, we would definitely recommend Barney's Cottage for its privacy and supreme comfort.

We could not recommend Barney’s Cottage enough, it really is a gem. It is a beautiful cottage, very clean and well kept, and ideal for privacy and dogs. This ticks all the boxes and is truly a great place to stay. It is located in an amazing off the beaten track yet easily accessible area with natural beauty all around. It is very spacious inside and equipped with everything you need. The shower is excellent and spacious. The outside is fabulous and private, not being over looked, and very large with so much room for a dog or dogs and children to run around play and exercise plenty, maybe around a third of an acre or more of land. The owners are extremely friendly and very helpful and made us feel most welcome. We have already booked our next stay here as a result. 10 out of 10.

    • Ms Cole - Verified booking

I loved staying at this cottage studio tucked away in a small, cornish village - a gem of a location for single travellers with a small furry friend. The location is so peaceful, discretely tucked to the side of the owners house yet independent in every way.. own front door gate, and even small courtyard for coffee. The perfect hosts nothing was too much for the studowners if asked otherwise you wouldn't know or notice they lived next door. Enjoyed lie ins, dog walks, and the warmth of this cottage provided by underfloor heating wow. Even a winter break is a pleasure here. Thank you for a time of bracing walks and beach delights that was made all the better by a place that I could really feel at home in the prettiest location. Thoroughly enjoyed!!
