What our customers say about their holidays

    • Robert - Verified booking

Second visit to this property so knew what to expect.

Can,t fault the property ( or the lovely owners) in any way. Only problem we have coming from Kent is the nightmare journey (nearly 8 hours for 270 miles!) but once at Moor View Chapel all this is forgotten. We take our 3 large dogs with us which is why we initially booked this property. The choice of properties accepting 3 dogs is extremely limited so finding such a lovely property that also welcomes our 'pack' is the icing on the cake! Best place to visit is Port Isaac which is magical - take the road/path past Doc Martin's house to the hill overlooking Port Isaac for some great views. Follow this with a drink at the pub in the harbour to take in the atmosphere of this beautiful village. Port Gaverne nearby (walk from Port Isaac as very little parking) is also lovely. Port Quin (park at National Trust car park and walk along coastal path to Droyden Castle - fantastic!) and Boscastle also worth visiting. Eden project good but expensive - not ideal for most kids or those who don,t like walking far!

Such a unique property - we felt like we were on holiday straight away.

When ‘takes 2 dogs’ and ‘sort by lowest price first’ are your most important search criteria you don’t expect to find something so characterful, quaint and scenic. The owners have renovated the chapel so beautifully and it made our stay really comfortable. It’s very well equipped - the owners genuinely want their guests to have a great stay. The field was perfect for exercising the dogs in an enclosed space, and we enjoyed some gorgeous walks from the chapel into the surrounding countryside along a river and through fields. There are no supermarkets close by but it’s just a short drive to the nearest Co-op. We personally liked the remote and peaceful location, and proximity to the Moors and beaches (Trebarwith Strand, Bossiney Cove 20 min drive away), a brilliant pub just 10 min drive away over the Moor in St Breward, and a fantastic chippy in Camelford.

Although this is quite a remote location, it was just what we needed.

We’d not been to Cornwall as a couple with dogs before as we tended to favour Abersoch, how happy were we that we’d taken a gamble. There was nothing that Pete and Charlotte had not given thought too, a tide times leaflet, first aid kit, ready made ice, all ticked boxes with us. The chapel was immaculate and we even said we could move in permanently, it was that ideal. Pete was so helpful and suggested a short drive to the moor for ideal dog walking as there was a stream to cool the dogs off. The nearest beach was 20 minutes away, unfortunately we chose the wrong time and day but agreed would be ideal if better planned. We support a bulldog charity “The Edward Foundation” and have already recommended Moorview Chapel as an ideal, multiple dog friendly, holiday let that exceeds expectations.

I can't recommend Moor View Chapel too highly.

It's a very nice location and the cottage itself is lovely and was very clean on arrival. It was very welcoming to find a bottle of wine and some scones and clotted cream! Pete, the owner, was always available for questions and happy to offer many great suggestions to fit what I wanted to do. Great pub meal recommendations too. Using the cottage as my base and enjoying lovely walks every morning and evening with my dog, I went all over the place, including Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle, Perranporth, across Bodmin Moor, and even Land's End. My dog (a Sprocker spaniel) had the best time too, with a track close by that gave her the opportunity for off-lead walks. I took covers for the furniture but they're provided in case your dog is a sofa cruiser. Very highly recommended.

Moor View Chapel is a lovely place in a very peaceful area.

It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our self catering stay. There’s a little field over the road where we could let the dogs have a quick run and plenty of walks nearby. It is very quiet which is ideal for a peaceful getaway. The living areas are comfortable and homely. The heating is excellent. Crowdy reservoir is nearby which is a lovely walk. You are also a short drive from several coastal villages. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They provide an information booklet with a few things to do and places to eat locally. The only downside was that Sykes gave us the wrong key code for the key box. This meant we had to phone the owners late at night (who were very helpful). We would definitely recommend a stay here.
