    Holiday Cottages in Perranporth

If you do like to be beside the seaside, then you ought to consider booking one of our Perranporth Cottages for your next holiday. However, we're not talking the usual cold, grey seas that Britain is famous for! Perranporth is situated on the coast of Cornwall, which soaks up the best of the summer sun, leaving the waters temperate enough to attract playful dolphins and sun-seeking seals. With beaches aplenty and some of the finest eating to be had anywhere in the country, this part of Cornwall has firmly established itself as the go-to place at any time of year.

Perranporth's beach is a major attraction in itself. With three miles of soft sand to stroll on and swathed in tales of smuggling and wrecking, it's easy to see how Winston Graham suddenly got all stirred-up and wrote Poldark. However, there's no guarantee of seeing Aidan Turner wandering around with his shirt off, in case you were wondering. What is guaranteed, though, is an extensive range of Perranporth Cottages that will put you in touch with the magic, myth and mystery of this part of Cornwall.

Is Perranporth good for families and couples?

For those who've booked one of our holiday cottages in Perranporth for a well-earned family break, there's plenty to get up to. Aside from the sailing, surfing and watersports on your doorstep, you've got the world-famous Eden Project just a short drive away – spectacular in the summer and warmly welcoming in the winter! You'll even find that the Eden Project hosts live music concerts throughout the year, giving you the opportunity to see your favourite band. Alternatively, Newquay Zoo is a great way to spend a day or you might consider the Flambards Village theme park, which is educational and entertaining.

Couples booking our holiday cottages in Perranporth to spend some quality time together might want to steer clear of the family-centric attractions. Instead, Truro Cathedral is a superb piece of architecture, offering three gothic spires and a great viewpoint over the city. Barbara Hepworth's secret sculpture garden, in St Ives, is a wonderful way to peacefully pass some time and you can't really visit Cornwall and not pay a visit to the Cornish Cyder Farm at Callestick. But don't blame us for the hangover in the morning!

      Lovely holiday at Sunbury Barn.

The barn itself is very clean, modern and stylish with good facilities, in a superb quiet location yet still close to beaches and villages. Nice touch from owners to provide a welcome pack of clotted cream, scones, milk and local apple juice. The living accommodation, being reverse upstairs really works well to take in all the splendid views, fantastic bathroom and hot tub as well as a useful laundry room. The access was a real problem for me, as I have an estate car low to the ground. Not only is the southern access very steep but also very twisty at the start, I felt like Colin McRae(rally driver) getting up it and the north entrance is strictly for tractors, it's just a track with a lot of overgrowth which is not good for your paintwork. I was lucky that the weather was good as I would not have been able to drive up it in the wet. This did not detract from what was a great holiday, I'm just being honest and stating facts, it is not meant as a criticism. The wifi is also hit and miss, maybe because of the location, which can result in no TV signal as well. I've left the best until last and have to mention the two beautiful dogs Maisy and Daisy (mom and daughter), who are the real stars here, so friendly, loving and great fun.

This is the perfect family/couples retreat.

Situated a little out of town yet easily walkable or a short drive to local pub, shop, beach etc. The residence is situated in the middle of Cornwall so it’s pretty much an hour to everywhere. We spent most of our time exploring the local area & all its gorgeous spring time natural beauty. Although some Cornish roads can be busy and, not particularly safe to walk, I downloaded an app (windymaps) which maps all of the public footpaths making local exploring really easy. The house is finished to a really high standard & comes with everything you’ll need for a home from home stay. We were travelling with our baby & a high chair, cot & stair gate were readily available. Being slightly away from the coast & benefitting from a patio & huge lawn (that gets the sun all day&eve) it is the perfect sun trap. Ideal for the book worm, family games or outdoor cooking. On that note local produce & farm shops are really easy to find from this location. We would highly recommend Sunbury Barn to anyone. The stunning & relaxing views from the hot tub, plus the calm & safe family environment made it a wonderful break for us.

We had the most wonderful stay at Beach Haven.

Super comfortable & really attentive host. Great communication. The heating had a bit of a wobble and stopped working downstairs, but an engineer was called and it was worked on. The pub down the road served incredible food, highly recommend the traditional local, The Bolingey Inn. It was so lovely to have a sea view, in any weather was such a lovely sight. Facilities and kitchen equipment were brilliant, I’ve never been anywhere with such an amazing amount of plates, glasses, mugs & cutlery, this was such a refreshing change. Great to have a drinks cooler too. One thing I did miss when I did the washing though was a tumble dryer to fluff the towels up when we did our few washes during the week. Especially as there were a lot of us doing washing, this would be a great addition. There wasn’t enough space on the airer for us all or radiator places to hang things either. The vacuum could do with a freshen/clean up, as that smelt quiet doggy when we used it to clean up during the week. We needed to hoover most days as we were a big party. We would

Just returned from a glorious week spent at Sunbury Barn.

The owners Caroline and Jim, were extremely helpful and gave us useful tips and suggestions for good walks, places to visit and were always on hand but in a discreet way. Their 2 beautiful dogs came to say hello regularly and kept my daughter entertained with their ball games! The barn itself is gorgeous, exactly as described. It's like a home away from home with every single thing that you could possibly need whilst on holiday. They have thought of everything. From the lovely welcome goodies in the kitchen to the comfy beds, the never ending hot water and lovely powerful showers. We loved it all. The hot tub was a real treat in the evening especially with the bats flying over head. We were very lucky with the weather which made our holiday even more fantastic, however there is still so much to see and do in the area that we must go back! We would definitely book Sunbury Barn again.

Our stay at Sunbury Barn was amazing.

It was cosy, warm and in the perfect location for visiting nearby towns and beaches. The barn was clean, and welcoming with a cream tea on arrival. The towels were fresh and soft and the hot tub was a perfect addition. We were looked after during the storm that hit and warned that there maybe a power cut. This was an added touch of kindness and allowed us to ensure we were prepared. Local beaches and pubs were lovely too. We would love to visit again next year. The only tiny, small detail that was slightly disappointing was there were no complimentary toiletries as stated in the description. There was an empty box of dishwasher tablets and no hand soap and only one toilet roll. As we arrived really late at night there was chance to rectify this before we went to bed, so first stop was the coop the next morning. Again this wasn't a problem, just a small suggestion.
