      Love this property.

We stayed last year and loved it so much we decided to come back. The house has everything you could want. It's lovely and relaxing and we love the village. The village has a local shop as well as a bakery and pub . Beautiful walks and of course the Castle with all its history. Norham is close to lots of Northumberland and plenty of places to visit. Both Alnwick and Bamburgh Castle are a short drive away. As is Holy Island and Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Also plenty of Scottish towns and places of interest nearby. It was nice after a very busy day to come back to the cottage and read and relax . Loved that the cottage is right opposite the local church which if you walk through will take you right down to the river. One last thing to note was my husband accidentally shut the front door with our housekey inside. We rang Sykes up who contacted the owner. The problem was sorted so quickly and it was nice and reassuring to know .

This is a very clean and well presented property in a lovely village.

Excellent local butchers and wine shop, bakery and small general store. Riverside walks along the Tweed were delightful. I stayed with my 2 dogs and the proximity to the Churchyard was invaluable first thing on a morning. The main problem I experienced was the dreadfully uncomfortable sofa. When you sat on it you were about a foot off the floor and there was absolutely no support for your back. It was largely due to this that I cut my holiday short and returned home early. If the weather had been better and I didn’t need to be in the house I would have stayed longer. The other item lacking is a rubber mat for the floor of the shower. Excellent shower, extremely slippy surface.

We had a lovely week at Pedwell really well situated in the village.

The house was lovely and warm and quite well equipped. The wine and shortbread were very welcome. We could have just done with a sweeping brush to get all the bits up without bringing the vacuum downstairs all the time and a grab rail for the shower would make it feel safer. I can't understand why we have not been to Norham before after going up 3 or 4 times a year. Fascinating castle and it's history. The river Tweed down the lane was lovely, and the river bankwalk was tranquil. We visited the church and chatted to the warden we could even take our dog inside. Brilliant Sunday roast at the Masons arms and another meal there later in the week. Everyone was so friendly.

A perfect spot for a relaxing holiday in beautiful countryside.

The east coast is in sight from the cottage, so it is only a car ride from lovely beaches, and time should be spent in the neighbouring villages whose history is fascinating. A heavy horse sanctuary and a wild cattle reserve should interest animal lovers and, even nearer to the cottage, wildlife abounds in the farmland which encircles the house. The owner is on hand but unobtrusive, and the home she has created for her visitors lacks nothing. It is beautifully furnished, very tastefully decorated and it is warm and cosy (for late-summer visitors like us). This whole experience has left us with happy memories, which will certainly last .... until our next visit!

Lovely little very clean, tidy, well appointed cottage in a wonderful village in a beautiful area.

There the ruined Norham Castle which you pass on the way into the village. The river Tweed literally a quarter of a mile down the lane. Wonderful river walks. The local pub The Masons Arms provides great food but you need to book. We will definitely come again. Three days nothing like enough time. The only criticism with the cottage is the information pack with seems to be generic. Stating a quick walk to the beach which is actually around 20 miles away. It states that electrical instructions are kept in the kitchen but there aren't any. Had to leave the kitchen bin rubbish bag in the hall because there isn't a refuse bin on the property.
