You'll be spoilt for choice with the attractions of Whitby just moments away, along with excellent pubs, shops and restaurants to choose from, including Pizza West serving quality Italian food, The Granby for classic pub grub, and classic fish and chips at Quayside. Pack your towels and beach essentials for a day in Whitby to relax on Whitby's golden sands, climb the 199 Steps for panoramic views, and admire the looming ruins of Whitby Abbey. If you’re willing to venture further afield, spend the day in Scarborough, where a wealth of adventure awaits, from boarding the Scarborough North Bay Railway, soaking up the sun on the town's beach, touring Scarborough Castle to exploring the fascinating SEA LIFE centre.

At the mouth of the River Esk in North Yorkshire's Scarborough region sits the seaside town and port of Whitby. The area is perfectly positioned for visiting this stunning region of Yorkshire, and there are plenty of things to do there, so you can make the most of both the countryside and the seaside. There is something to do in this area for every interest and season, from the adjacent North York Moors to its Blue Flag beaches. Among its many attractions, Whitby has a beautiful ambience with meandering streets and obscure alleys that are home to a variety of restaurants and businesses. Visit the charming harbour and lighthouse to watch the sun go down, or go whale watching or on a coastal cruise to see the wildlife up close. To immerse yourself in history, ascend the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey or go to the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, which features a historical and anthropological display about Cook himself.
